Effect of hydroxylated carbon nanotubes on the thermal and electrical properties of derived epoxy composite materials

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2020
Carbon nanotubes are efficient thermal conductors and exhibit unique electrical properties. What is not entirely clear, however, is how to effectively transfer the carbon nanotube's unique attributes exhibited at the nanoscale to the macroscale.

Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yes, 2021
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are referred to as carbon nano-architecture allotropes, with wrapped graphene sheets forming a cylindrical structure. CNTs are either developed by metals or narrow-band semiconductors with rolling graphene sheets in various ways.

Harnessing Outer Space for Improved Electrocaloric Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel radiative heat sink/source‐integrated electrocaloric (R‐iEC) system combines the electrocaloric (EC) effect with a thermally conductive radiative cooler (TCRC) to address heat dissipation limitations in EC devices. Utilizing outer space as a heat sink, the system achieves up to 240 W m−2 of heat dissipation performance, making it highly ...

Alteration of superconductivity of suspended carbon nanotubes by deposition of organic molecules

open access: yes, 2005
We have altered the superconductivity of a suspended rope of single walled carbon nanotubes, by coating it with organic polymers. Upon coating, the normal state resistance of the rope changes by less than 20 percent.

Pressure-Induced Interlinking of Carbon Nanotubes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We predict new forms of carbon consisting of one and two dimensional networks of interlinked single wall carbon nanotubes, some of which are energetically more stable than van der Waals packing of the nanotubes on a hexagonal lattice.

Bioaccumulation and ecotoxicity of carbon nanotubes [PDF]

open access: yesChemistry Central Journal, 2013
Carbon nanotubes (CNT) have numerous industrial applications and may be released to the environment. In the aquatic environment, pristine or functionalized CNT have different dispersion behavior, potentially leading to different risks of exposure along the water column.

Electric Pulse Regulated MXene Based Nanozymes for Integrative Bioelectricity Immuno‐Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXenzyme‐mediated bioelectricity cancer therapy (MXenzyme‐BECT) enhances cancer cell death through irreversible depolarization, ion channel disruption, ROS generation, and immunogenic cell death. Computational simulations reveal the electrical mechanisms by which MXenzyme acts on single cells and support to predict treatment parameters. Next‐generation

Buckling Analysis of Hetero-Junction Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering, 2018
The buckling analysis of carbon nanotubes without and with hetero-junctions is described in this paper. The buckling behaviour was investigated by the finite element method and the carbon nanotubes were modelled as space frame structures.

Influence of Plasma Jet Temperature Profiles in Arc Discharge Methods of Carbon Nanotubes Synthesis

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2017
One of the most common methods of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) synthesis is application of an electric-arc plasma. However, the final product in the form of cathode deposit is composed of carbon nanotubes and a variety of carbon impurities. An assay of carbon
