Homochiral Self‐Sorting During Macrocycle Formation and their Chiroptical Properties

Imine condensation of C2‐symmetric chiral aldehydes with aliphatic amines results in 2 : 2 macrocycles lacking self‐sorting, whereas aromatic amines yield macrocycles with complete homochiral self‐sorting. These macrocycles exhibit unique chiroptical properties attributed to rigidification compared to the starting aldehydes.
