Diamond nano-pyramids with narrow linewidth SiV centers for quantum technologies

open access: yes, 2018
Color centers in diamond are versatile solid state atomic-like systems suitable for quantum technological applications. In particular, the negatively charged silicon vacancy center (SiV) can exhibit a narrow photoluminescence (PL) line and lifetime ...

Transmission of Radio‐Frequency Waves and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance in Lanthanum Superhydrides

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
1H NMR and radio‐frequency transmission measurements of lanthanum superhydrides at 165 GPa reveals a transition at 260–280 K by a strong suppression of the signal intensity, significant changes in NMR spectra, including a dramatic decrease of the relaxation rate 1/T1T, and pronounced shielding effect, which may have a superconducting nature.

Observation of Inter-layer Excitons in MoSe2 Single Crystals

open access: yes, 2017
Interlayer excitons are observed coexisting with intralayer excitons in bi-layer, few-layer, and bulk MoSe2 single crystals by confocal reflection contrast spectroscopy.

Recent Advances in Laser‐Induced Graphene‐Based Gas Sensors: From Sensing Mechanisms to Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...

A 7-kW narrow-linewidth fiber amplifier assisted by optimizing the refractive index of the large-mode-area active fiber

open access: yesHigh Power Laser Science and Engineering
The high-power narrow-linewidth fiber laser has become the most widely used high-power laser source nowadays. Further breakthroughs of the output power depend on comprehensive optimization of stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS), stimulated Raman ...

Design and Optimization of Full‐Stokes Hyperspectro‐Polarimetric Encoding Metasurfaces Based on Conditional Multi‐Task Deep Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A conditional multi‐task deep learning framework is developed for designing and optimizing Full‐Stokes Hyperspectro‐Polarimetric Encoding Metasurfaces (FHPEMs). This framework achieves joint spectro‐polarimetric learning and unified forward–inverse design.

Narrow Linewidth 510 nm Laser via Single-Pass Frequency-Tripling by Waveguide PPLNs

open access: yesPhotonics
A single-frequency narrow linewidth green laser at 510 nm is a vital component for the study of Cesium Rydberg atoms. Here, we demonstrate a 510 nm laser based on single-pass second-harmonic generation (SHG) and sum-frequency generation (SFG) via ...

Surface Plasmon Enhanced Photoluminescence of Carbon Dots Formed In Situ on Silver Gratings

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Carbon emitters formed in situ on a silver grating via plasmonic catalysis yield enhanced spontaneous emission by preferential radiative decay into surface plasmons. Enhancement manifests as emission exhibiting characteristics of coherence (polarization, directionality), and accelerated lifetimes of ∼30 ps, yielding Purcell factors of ∼70.

Photonuclear Population of 229m,gTh in Th‐Doped Crystals Toward Nuclear Clock Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a novel photonuclear approach for producing the nuclear clock isomer 229mTh in thorium‐doped crystals, overcoming current supply limitations. Through cross‐section calculations and Monte Carlo simulations, we identify optimal crystal materials and irradiation conditions, achieving high signal‐to‐noise ratios.
