Integrated-optic, narrow-linewidth laser

Applied Physics Letters, 1986
We report the demonstration of the single-frequency and narrow-linewidth (<100 kHz) operation of an extended cavity laser consisting of a Ti:LiNbO3 single-mode waveguide circuit and an InGaAsP waveguide gain medium. A parallel coupled cavity, electro-optic elements for tuning the resonant frequencies of the cavities, and an external phase ...

Narrow linewidth tunable semiconductor laser

2016 Compound Semiconductor Week (CSW) [Includes 28th International Conference on Indium Phosphide & Related Materials (IPRM) & 43rd International Symposium on Compound Semiconductors (ISCS), 2016
A full-C band tunable laser equipped with an air-gap suspended waveguide structure for efficient thermal heater tuning is described. It is shown that the monolithic tunable laser can simultaneously meet the requirements for the output power, side-mode suppression ratio, and spectral linewidth for 16-QAM coherent communication system.

3 kW, 0.2 nm narrow linewidth linearly polarized all-fiber laser based on a compact MOPA structure

Laser Physics Letters, 2020
In this work, we realize a high-power, narrow linewidth, linearly polarized laser output based on a compact all-fiber polarization maintaining (PM) master oscillator power amplifier.

Narrow spectral linewidth semiconductor lasers

Optical and Quantum Electronics, 1992
Developments of narrow-linewidth distributed-Bragg-reflection (DBR) and distributed-feed-back (DFB) lasers are described. The design of a narrow-linewidth DBR laser is described in detail. Kl optimization from the viewpoint of narrow-linewidth operation and stable single mode operation is discussed.

Narrow-Linewidth Microlasers on Silicon

Frontiers in Optics 2007/Laser Science XXIII/Organic Materials and Devices for Displays and Energy Conversion, 2007
After reviewing several laser sources based on high-Q microtoroid lasers, the recent observation of fundamental linewidths as narrow as 4 Hz in microtoroid lasers will be described. Inverse-power (Schawlow-Townes) broadening is observed.

Single-frequency DBR Nd-doped fiber laser at 1120  nm with a narrow linewidth and low threshold.

Optics Letters, 2020
We report a narrow linewidth and low threshold single-frequency distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) fiber laser at 1120 nm based on a short 1.5 cm long Nd-doped silica fiber which, to the best of our knowledge, is the first demonstration of a Nd-doped ...

Widely tunable ultra-narrow-linewidth dissipative soliton generation at the telecom band

, 2020
Ultra-narrow-linewidth mode-locked lasers with wide wavelength tunability can be versatile light sources for a variety of newly emergent applications. However, it is very challenging to achieve the stable mode locking of substantially long, anomalously ...

780 nm narrow-linewidth self-injection-locked WGM lasers

LASE, 2020
Narrow-linewidth lasers operating in the near-infrared provide precise timing synchronization for atomic optical clocks and quantum computers. Crystalline ultra-high-Q optical resonators enable high-performance laser design in a small form factor that ...

Continuously linewidth tunable, polarisation maintaining, narrow linewidth fiber laser

Fiber Lasers XVI: Technology and Systems, 2019
High power polarised narrow linewidth sources are of immense importance in coherent beam combining (increased path length accuracy), spectral beam combining (reduced angular spread), non-linear frequency conversion (increased parametric gain) and remote detection.

Narrow-linewidth tunable ArF* excimer-laser source

IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1981
The generation of narrow-linewidth tunable radiation from excimer lasers has been a topic of considerable investigation recently.1 Because of the short laser wavelengths generated, such sources are ideal tools for multiphoton spectroscopy in the VUV.2 Because conventional excimer lasers generally operate with broadband laser output and poor beam ...
