Natural circulation FLiBe loop overview

open access: yesInternational Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 2019
Abstract A new large natural circulation FLiBe loop has operated for the first time in 40 years. Reaching temperatures above 700 °C with stable flow rates around 5 cm/s, the loop exhibits a range of flow phenomena pertinent to high temperature natural circulation safety systems for nuclear reactors.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Operational Flexibility of Two-Phase Flow Test Rig for Investigating the Dynamic Instabilities in Tube Boiling Systems

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2020
The safe operation of a two-phase heat exchanger can be performed by determining the instability threshold values of power plant parameters. Thus, the power plant parameters must be designed outside these thresholds to avoid undesirable instability.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Research on Flow and Heat Transfer Characteristics in Helical-coiled Tube under Motion Condition

open access: yesYuanzineng kexue jishu, 2022
Natural circulation technology and helical-coiled tube steam generator are widely adopted in marine nuclear power system design due to the inherent safety feature of natural circulation and high heat transfer coefficient of helicalcoiled steam ...

Natural Circulation in Nuclear Reactor Systems [PDF]

open access: yesScience and Technology of Nuclear Installations, 2008

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.
