Filter pairs and natural extensions of logics

open access: yesArchive for Mathematical Logic, 2022
We adjust the notion of finitary filter pair, which was coined for creating and analyzing finitary logics, in such a way that we can treat logics of cardinality $κ$, where $κ$ is a regular cardinal. The corresponding new notion is called $κ$-filter pair.

Onto extensions of free groups [PDF]

open access: yesGroups, Complexity, Cryptology, 2021
An extension of subgroups $H\leqslant K\leqslant F_A$ of the free group of rank $|A|=r\geqslant 2$ is called onto when, for every ambient free basis $A'$, the Stallings graph $\Gamma_{A'}(K)$ is a quotient of $\Gamma_{A'}(H)$.

Conservation Genetic Analysis of Blanding’s Turtles across Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan

open access: yesDiversity, 2023
The Blanding’s Turtle (Emydoidea blandingii) is a species in need of conservation across much of its geographic range. A key aspect to conserving a species is understanding the genetic diversity and population structure across the landscape.

Almost Complex and Hypercomplex Norden Structures Induced by Natural Riemann Extensions

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
The Riemann extension, introduced by E. K. Patterson and A. G. Walker, is a semi-Riemannian metric with a neutral signature on the cotangent bundle T∗M of a smooth manifold M, induced by a symmetric linear connection ∇ on M.

Naturalness of lepton non-universality and muon g-2

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2022
We show that the observed anomalies in the lepton sector can be explained in extensions of the Standard Model that are natural and, therefore, resolve the Higgs sector hierarchy problem.

Interval Type Interval and Cognitive Uncertain Information in Information Fusion and Decision Making

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, 2023
More uncertainty can be obtained when real numbers are extended to intervals. The two new concepts proposed in this work are the natural extensions of cognitive interval information and cognitive uncertain information with real numbered values replaced ...

Some natural extensions of the parking space [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series A, 2021
We construct a family of $S_n$ modules indexed by $c\in\{1,\dots,n\}$ with the property that upon restriction to $S_{n-1}$ they recover the classical parking function representation of Haiman. The construction of these modules relies on an $S_n$-action on a set that is closely related to the set of parking functions.
