An extension of the reflexive property of rings

open access: yesArab Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2019
Mason introduced the notion of reflexive property of rings as a generalization of reduced rings. For a ring endomorphism α, Krempa studied α-rigid rings as an extension of reduced rings. In this note, we introduce the notion of α-quasi reflexive rings as

The natural extension of the ?-transformation

open access: yesActa Mathematica Hungarica, 1996
For each real number β>1 the β-transformation is dened by Tβx = βx(mod1). In this paper the natural extension Tβ of the ergodic system underlying Tβ is explicitly given. Furthermore, it is shown that a certain induced system of this natural extension is Bernoulli. Since Tβ is weakly mixing, due to W. Parry, it follows from a deep result of A.

On a natural extension of Jacob's ranks

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series A, 1986
The main result (Theorem 2) proves that for a finitely generated ordered semigroup D the following are equivalent: (i) D is finite and for all \(a,b\in D\), if \(ab=ba=b\) and \(a\leq b\) then \(a=b\); (ii) D is a ``strongly hypo-Ramseyan''; (iii) D is ``strongly hyporepetitive''. (All terms in quotes are defined in the text.) The authors obtain a five-

Natural extension of the generalized uncertainty principle [PDF]

open access: yesClassical and Quantum Gravity, 2008
We discuss a gedanken experiment for the simultaneous measurement of the position and momentum of a particle in de Sitter spacetime. We propose an extension of the so-called generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) which implies the existence of a minimum observable momentum.

Extensions of the natural approach to refinements and generalizations of some trigonometric inequalities

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2018
In this paper we propose a new method for sharpening and refinements of some trigonometric inequalities. We apply these ideas to some inequalities of Wilker–Cusa–Huygens type.

Independent natural extension for infinite spaces [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Approximate Reasoning, 2019
We define and study the independent natural extension of two local uncertainty models for the general case of infinite spaces, using the frameworks of sets of desirable gambles and conditional lower previsions. In contrast to Miranda and Zaffalon (2015), we adopt Williams-coherence instead of Walley-coherence.
