Natural vibration frequencies of delaminated composite beams

open access: yesComputer Assisted Methods in Engineering and Science, 2023
In the presented work a model of a layered, delaminated composite beam based on the finite elements method was introduced. In this model the beam was divided into finite elements, while the delamination was modelled using additional boundary conditions.

Sensitivity-based finite element model updating with natural frequencies and zero frequencies for damped beam structures

open access: yesInternational Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, 2014
: The main objective of this paper is to propose a new Finite Element (FE) model updating technique for damped beam structures. The present method consists of a FE model updating, a Degree of Freedom (DOF) reduction method and a damping matrix ...

Unheard and Under‐Supported: Health‐Related Quality of Life in Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults With Sickle Cell Disease

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Sickle cell disease (SCD) is an autosomal recessive hemoglobinopathy affecting millions of individuals worldwide. The clinical expression and psychosocial burden of SCD vary widely across geographical, cultural, and healthcare system contexts, underscoring the need for setting‐specific approaches to assessment.

Adjunctive Therapeutic Plasma Exchange in Refractory Adult‐Onset Still's Disease Complicated by Secondary Macrophage Activation Syndrome: A Single‐Center Experience

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Adult‐onset Still's disease (AOSD) complicated by macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) carries substantial mortality. The role of therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) remains uncertain. Methods We retrospectively analyzed patients with AOSD‐MAS treated with TPE at a single‐center.

A consideration to natural frequencies under force control

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
For characterizing vehicle dynamic behavior, the natural frequency and the damping ratio under position control, that is the control using steering angle as driver's input, have been developed as representative indices.

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)
