Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Rprop Using the Natural Gradient
Gradient-based optimization algorithms are the standard methods for adapting the weights of neural networks. The natural gradient gives the steepest descent direction based on a non-Euclidean, from a theoretical point of view more appropriate metric in ...

Natural Conjugate Gradient in Variational Inference [PDF]
Variational methods for approximate inference in machine learning often adapt a parametric probability distribution to optimize a given objective function. This view is especially useful when applying variational Bayes (VB) to models outside the conjugate-exponential family. For them, variational Bayesian expectation maximization (VB EM) algorithms are

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Variable-step blind source separation method with adaptive momentum factor
A variable-step blind source separation algorithm based on the natural gradient with adaptive momentum factor was proposed, which could cope with the determined blind source separation in the environment of stationary and non-stationary.Function ...

Invariance properties of the natural gradient in overparametrised systems
The natural gradient field is a vector field that lives on a model equipped with a distinguished Riemannian metric, e.g. the Fisher–Rao metric, and represents the direction of steepest ascent of an objective function on the model with respect to this ...

Aquaporin‐3 and aquaporin‐5 impact the development of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma spheroids
Schematic representation of the role of aquaporin‐3 (AQP3) and aquaporin‐5 (AQP5) in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Both proteins are upregulated in PDAC and are associated with tumor progression and metastatic potential. Silencing AQP3 or AQP5 in PDAC spheroids results in decreased diameter, area, and overall growth, underscoring their key ...
