Low-level contrast statistics of natural images can modulate the frequency of event-related potentials (ERP) in humans

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2016
Humans are fast and accurate in categorizing complex natural images. It is, however, unclear what features of visual information are exploited by brain to perceive the images with such speed and accuracy.

Statistics of natural binaural sounds. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Binaural sound localization is usually considered a discrimination task, where interaural phase (IPD) and level (ILD) disparities at narrowly tuned frequency channels are utilized to identify a position of a sound source.

LLM‐Integrated Human–Robot Interaction System for Microrobots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This paper proposes an LLM‐based control framework for guiding microrobots using human natural language. This framework can convert the natural human speech into safe and executable command sets for reliable navigation in complex environments. The experimental results show high accuracy and robustness in task performance, demonstrating the potential of

Paying attention to natural scenes in area V1

open access: yesiScience
Summary: Natural scene responses in the primary visual cortex are modulated simultaneously by attention and by contextual signals about scene statistics stored across the connectivity of the visual processing hierarchy.

CD9+ B Cells Induce T Follicular Helper Cell Apoptosis to Regulate Germinal Center Regression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A unique subset of CD9+ B cells regulates germinal center B (GC‐B) cell regression by inducing T follicular helper (Tfh) cell apoptosis through multiple signaling pathways, such as ALCAM‐CD6. FOXP1 plays a key role in GC‐B cell differentiation. These findings clarify mechanisms of GC degeneration and termination and offer potential targets for adenoid ...

Solid Harmonic Wavelet Bispectrum for Image Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Solid Harmonic Wavelet Bispectrum (SHWB), a rotation‐ and translation‐invariant descriptor that captures higher‐order (phase) correlations in signals, is introduced. Combining wavelet scattering, bispectral analysis, and group theory, SHWB achieves interpretable, data‐efficient representations and demonstrates competitive performance across texture,

Natural statistics for spectral samples [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Spectral sampling is associated with the group of unitary transformations acting on matrices in the same way that simple random sampling is associated with the symmetric group acting on vectors. This parallel extends to symmetric functions of spectral

Single‐Cell Transcriptomic Analysis of Tumor Heterogeneity and the Microenvironment in Pseudomyxoma Peritonei

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a single‐cell atlas of pseudomyxoma peritonei spanning primary and paired metastatic lesions. Distinct epithelial substates, stromal remodeling, immune exclusion, lipid metabolic reprogramming, and a candidate angiogenic network were identified in metastatic lesions.

Loss of SHP1 in Spinal Astrocytes Triggers T‐Lymphocyte Infiltration and Nociceptive Hypersensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Astrocyte‐specific SHP1 deletion disrupts astrocyte–vascular interactions and compromises BBB integrity while enhancing STAT1‐dependent CXCL10 expression. These changes synergistically promote peripheral CD4+ and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration into the SDH. The infiltrating T cells secrete IFN‐γ, which in turn activates microglia.
