Interaction With Tilting Gestures In Ubiquitous Environments

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, we introduce a tilting interface that controls direction based applications in ubiquitous environments. A tilt interface is useful for situations that require remote and quick interactions or that are executed in public spaces. We explored

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only

COMELGETZ PROTOTYPE IN LEARNING PRAYERS AMONG CHILDREN

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Information Technology and Multimedia, 2017
In a natural user interface (NUI) interaction, users no longer need to use the input device to interact with a computer such as a keyboard or remote control. There are a number of issues mainly on misinterpretations of gestures that are often reported in

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

How Controlled English can Improve Semantic Wikis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The motivation of semantic wikis is to make acquisition, maintenance, and mining of formal knowledge simpler, faster, and more flexible. However, most existing semantic wikis have a very technical interface and are restricted to a relatively low level of

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Exploring Preferential Ring-Based Gesture Interaction Across 2D Screen and Spatial Interface Environments

open access: yesApplied Sciences
As gesture-based interactions expand across traditional 2D screens and immersive XR platforms, designing intuitive input modalities tailored to specific contexts becomes increasingly essential. This study explores how users cognitively and experientially

Application of a Natural Language Interface to the Teleoperation of a Mobile Robot [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
IFAC Intelligent Components for Vehicles, Seville, Spain, 1998This paper describes the application of a natural language interface to the teleoperation of a mobile robot. Natural language communication with robots is a major goal, since it allows for non
