Microglial GPR35 Ameliorates Epileptogenesis and Neuroinflammation via PDGFA Domain 2 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Activation of microglial G protein–coupled receptor 35 (GPR35) by L‐kynurenic acid (L‐Kyna) initiates a platelet‐derived growth factor A (PDGFA)–dependent phosphoinositide 3‐kinase–protein kinase B (PI3K–AKT) signaling cascade that dampens hippocampal neuroinflammation, thereby restraining epileptogenesis, lowering seizure susceptibility, and ...

Natural Ventilation Strategies to Prevent Airborne Disease Transmission in Public Buildings

open access: yesEng
This paper evaluates the effectiveness of natural ventilation as a health and safety strategy in municipal buildings, focusing on its capacity to ensure indoor air quality and limit airborne disease transmission.

Simulation of natural ventilation for semi-enclosed buildings [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Energy-saving buildings have become a topical issue and widely used the energy-saving ventilation design, which aims to maximize the use of natural ventilation while reducing demand on mechanical ventilation.

The natural ventilation of unheated ‘closed rooms’ [PDF]

open access: yesEpidemiology and Infection, 1946
The experimental method for, and analysis of, more than 300 determinations of air influx rates into two unheated ‘closed rooms’ of opposite aspects each fitted (a) with wall grating, or (b) with flue, are described. The average relative efficacy for all observed wind velocities of (a) of 50 sq.in.

Neuronal Cholesterol Deficiency Mediated by Astrocytic SREBP2 Downregulation Leads to Postoperative Cognitive Dysfunction Through Impairment of Hippocampal Synaptic Plasticity and Excitatory Synaptic Transmission

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The results showed that the reduction of plasma 24‐hydroxycholesterol (24‐OHC) was related to the cognitive decline in elderly surgical patients. Neuroinflammation induced by anesthesia and surgery significantly downregulated SREBP2 in hippocampal reactive astrocytes, resulting in reduced cholesterol synthesis.

Shoot proliferation, leaf anatomy and pigment content of Eugenia dysenterica growing in conventional and natural ventilation systems

open access: yesRevista Ceres, 2019
Natural ventilation micropropagation systems differ from conventional systems by allowing gas exchange between the internal and external media of the culture flask. The objective of this work was to compare the conventional system of in vitro propagation

Inactivation Rap2a in Endothelial Cell Prevents Pulmonary Fibrosis by Regulating Immune Microenvironment Through MAP4K4‐VCAM1 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identified the endothelial RAP2A as a regulator of inflammatory endothelial activation in experimental lung fibrosis and suggest that targeting RAP2A‐mediated signaling may represent a potential strategy to modulate endothelial–immune crosstalk during fibrotic lung injury.
