Considerations of “Combined Probability of Injury” in the Next-Generation USA Frontal NCAP

Traffic Injury Prevention, 2010
The numerical basis for assigning star ratings in the next-generation USA New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) for frontal impacts was assessed. That basis, the Combined Probability of Injury, or CPI, is the probability of an occupant sustaining an injury to any of the specified body regions.

The Naturalistic Cannabis Administration Protocol (NCAP): A Proof-of-Concept Study

Journal of Psychoactive Drugs, 2022
Lab-based studies examining the effects of cannabis administration on human behavior compromise ecological validity due to the influence of set and setting. Contextual factors of clinical settings have long been recognized as producing measurable changes in physiology, emotionality, and cognition.

A VHDL-based protocol controller for NCAP processors

Computer Standards & Interfaces, 2009
This work presents the development of an IEEE 1451.2 protocol controller based on a low-cost FPGA that is directly connected to the parallel port of a conventional personal computer. In this manner it is possible to implement a Network Capable Application Processor (NCAP) based on a personal computer, without parallel port modifications.

Remote Reprogrammable NCAPs: Issues and Approaches

2007 4th IEEE Workshop on Intelligent Data Acquisition and Advanced Computing Systems: Technology and Applications, 2007
The paper describes two approaches to development of network capable application processors (NCAPs), which support remote online reprogramming and are compatible with IEEE1451 series of standards. The first approach utilizes specialized DS80C400 microcontroller by Dallas Semiconductors, while the second one is based on double-processor architecture ...

Design of NCAP Based on IEEE1451 Standard

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011
In consideration of the interchangeability and interoperability of the sensors from different manufacturers, this paper proposes a scheme which can replace the software with the hardware to realize the Network Capable Application Processor (NCAP) in the networked smart sensor node according to the IEEE 1451 standard.

nCap: wire-speed packet capture and transmission

Workshop on End-to-End Monitoring Techniques and Services, 2005., 2006
With the increasing network speed, it is no longer possible to capture and transmit network packets at wire-speed using general-purpose operating systems. Many companies tried to tackle this problem by manufacturing costly network adapters able to keep up at high network speeds.

Optical And Environmental Properties Of NCAP Glazing Products

SPIE Proceedings, 1989
The first large area, commercially available, electrically-controllable glazing products sold under the tradename VARILITETM are based on a new liquid crystal film technology called NCAP. The glazing products can be switched in milliseconds between a highly translucent state (for privacy and glare control) to a transparent state (for high visibility ...

Optimal Design of Instrument Panel for Euro NCAP

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2007
<div class="htmlview paragraph">In order to obtain EURO NCAP 5★, it is essential to avoid the knee modifier (Variable Contact Modifier and Concentrated Loading Modifier). This paper, euro-type Instrument panel structure which can avoid the knee modifier was proposed, and CAE was performed for structural optimization. Proposed euro-type Instrument
