Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Experimental and numerical study of bond between masonry and near-surface mounted steel bars
This addresses the bond between masonry and near surface mounted steel bars through experimental and numerical investigation. In the experimental program, 12 masonry prisms were prepared from commercial clay bricks and were strengthened using NSM steel ...

EFFECT OF NEAR-SURFACE MOUNTED BARS ON THE STRUCTURAL BEHAVIOR OF ONE-WAY RC SLAB
The present research paper deals with the finite element modelling of continuous one-way reinforced concrete (RC) slabs strengthened by near surface mounted (NSM) bars under static loads.

Application of near surface mounted (NSM) strengthening technique to traditional timber frame walls [PDF]
Timber frame buildings are well known as an efficient seismic resistant structure popular all over the world not only due to their seismic performance, but also to their low cost and the strength they offer.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Strengthening Effect of Prestressed Near-Surface-Mounted CFRP Tendon on Reinforced Concrete Beam
Efforts are being made to use FRP (fiber-reinforced polymer) for reinforcements instead of traditional construction materials like steel owing to its remarkable mechanical properties.

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
