Antiviral regulator TRIM25 as a prognostic marker of better survival in Merkel cell carcinoma: Association with MCPyV status

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 158, Issue 12, Page 3268-3278, 15 June 2026.
What's new? TRIM25 is known for its role in antiviral immunity and association with poor prognosis in various cancers. This study reveals an association between high TRIM25 expression and Merkel cell polyomavirus positivity in Merkel cell carcinoma.

ATP modulates holdase activity of fungal and human 110‐kilodalton heat shock proteins to promote protein folding

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Heat shock proteins of the 70‐kDa family (Hsp70s) are highly abundant and conserved molecular chaperones that help preserve proteostasis primarily by facilitating proper protein folding. Heat shock protein of the 110‐kDa family (Hsp110s), a specialized branch of the Hsp70/Hsp110 superfamily, function both as nucleotide exchange factor (NEF ...

Childhood Maltreatment and Cognitive Functioning in Bipolar Disorder: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesActa Psychiatrica Scandinavica, Volume 153, Issue 5, Page 315-338, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims Characterising the association between childhood maltreatment (CM) and cognitive functioning in bipolar disorder (BD) is crucial for improving the understanding of how early environmental risk factors impact the presentation of the disorder.

Rational nef and anti-nef polytopes are not uniform

open access: yes, 2021
We give two examples which show that rational nef and anti-nef polytopes are not uniform even for klt surface pairs, answering a question of Chen-Han. We also show that rational nef polytopes are uniform when the Cartier indices are uniformly bounded.

Resource management as a conservation tool to impact genetic diversity through mating patterns in wild populations

open access: yesEcological Applications, Volume 36, Issue 3, April 2026.
Abstract The distribution of resources influences interactions in wild populations by affecting movement, space‐use patterns, and, as a result, mating systems. Limited resources may reduce encounters between potential breeders, reducing the number and variety of individuals contributing to the population's gene pool.

Liquid–Liquid Phase Separation in Viral Infection and Immunology

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
LLPS organizes viral replication and antiviral immunity. Viruses hijack LLPS to form replication factories and evade immune sensors, while hosts assemble LLPS‐driven signaling hubs (e.g., MAVS, RIG‐I, and SGs) to amplify interferon responses. Targeting these condensate interfaces offers novel therapeutic strategies against infectious diseases ...

Effects of Surface Characteristics on the Existence of Isolated Permafrost in Northeastern Mongolia

open access: yesPermafrost and Periglacial Processes, Volume 37, Issue 2, Page 240-253, April/June 2026.
ABSTRACT Isolated patches of permafrost, where ground thermal changes are affected by ecosystem factors such as vegetation cover rather than climate, may be vulnerable to environmental disturbances in semiarid regions. However, the impacts of ecosystem factors remain underevaluated in Mongolia.
