Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Artificial Immune System–Negative Selection Classification Algorithm (NSCA) for Four Class Electroencephalogram (EEG) Signals

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2018
Artificial immune systems (AIS) are intelligent algorithms derived from the principles inspired by the human immune system. In this study, electroencephalography (EEG) signals for four distinct motor movements of human limbs are detected and classified ...

Electroweak Sudakov Corrections to New Physics Searches at the CERN LHC

open access: yes, 2013
We compute the one-loop electroweak Sudakov corrections to the production process Z (nu bar{nu}) + n jets, with n = 1,2,3, in p p collisions at the LHC. It represents the main irreducible background to new physics searches at the energy frontier.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Negative Selection Algorithm for DNA Sequence Classification

open access: yesInternational Journal of Fuzzy Logic and Intelligent Systems, 2004
According to revealing the DNA sequence of human and living things, it increases that a demand on a new computational processing method which utilizes DNA sequence information. In this paper we propose a classification algorithm based on negative selection of the immune system to classify DNA patterns.
