A comparative study of methods for estimating virtual flux at the point of common coupling in grid connected voltage source converters with LCL filter [PDF]
Grid connected Voltage Source Converters (VSCs) with LCL filters usually have voltage measurements at the filter capacitors, while it can be important to control the active or reactive power injection at the grid-side of the LCL filter, for instance at a

Summary This paper proposes an improved transient negative-sequence calculation formula for a large-capacity nuclear power generator system under unbalanced network conditions. Because of the disadvantages of traditional transient negative-sequence ratings, I2*2 t is concluded to be inadequate for rating the generator imbalance capability.

Investigation of negative sequence injection capability in H-bridge multilevel STATCOM [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to investigate the ability of star- and delta-connected H-bridge multilevel STATCOMs to exchange negative-sequence current with the grid. Zero-sequence injection is utilized for capacitor voltage balancing.

Detection of Internal Faults in Transformers By Negative Sequence Current
Initially it is very difficult to find out internal fault in transformer. These internal fault are hazardous and causes overheating of transformer oil and winding, it consequences as insulation failure because of this uninterrupted power supply cannot be continued. It is more difficult to detect internal fault in small ratting transformer.

MMC-SST input-level control strategy considering power quality optimization
The surge of negative sequence component of current affects the waveform quality of grid side current and endangers the normal operation of the system when the three-phase voltage of solid state transformer (SST) in the distribution network is unbalanced

This paper studied the use of a new stator current feature for detection of winding and cage bars faults in an induction motor, and presents the experimental validation of a detection and identification scheme using Support Vector Machines (SVM). This validation was performed in a test bed using 2 HP, 4 pole motors in which shorted winding and broken ...

Improved protection system for phase faults on marine vessels based on ratio between negative-sequence and positive-sequence of the fault current [PDF]
This paper presents a new method to protect the radial feeders on marine vessels. The proposed protection method is effective against Phase-Phase (PP) faults and is based on evaluation of the ratio between the negative-sequence and positive-sequence of ...
