Understanding and Tuning Mobile Interfaces in Ferroelectric Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 Thin Films in Relation to Microstructure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectricity in thin HfO2‐based films offers great possibilities for next‐generation neuromorphic memory devices. There, the response to subcoercive voltage signals is driven by the movement of mobile interfaces and their interaction with crystal defects – a yet rather unexplored aspect, which we shed light on and gain new insights into the complex

Design of a multi-configurations divertor for the DTT facility

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2022
The standard positive triangularity H-mode tokamak operation with Single Null Divertor (SND) configuration and tungsten monoblocks targets can face some difficulties in providing a solution scalable towards the realization of the fusion reactor.

Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Prospects of core–edge integrated no-ELM and small-ELM scenarios for future fusion devices

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2023
One of our grand challenges towards fusion energy is the achievement of a high-performance plasma core coupled to a boundary solution. The high confinement mode (H-mode) provides such a high-performance fusion core due to the build-up of an edge ...

Understanding anisotropy generated by fluctuations in heavy-ion collisions

open access: yes, 2011
Event-by-event fluctuations are central to the current understanding of ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. In particular, fluctuations in the geometry of the early-time collision system are responsible for new phenomena such as triangular flow ...

2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.

Anisotropic Flows of Charmonium in the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
We review recent studies about anisotropic flows (v1,v2,v3) of charmonium in the quark-gluon plasma produced in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. Collective flows of the bulk medium are developed due to the anisotropic pressure gradient of the medium ...

Resolution of the Nested Hierarchy for Rational sl(n) Models

open access: yes, 2000
We construct Drinfel'd twists for the rational sl(n) XXX-model giving rise to a completely symmetric representation of the monodromy matrix. We obtain a polarization free representation of the pseudoparticle creation operators figuring in the ...

Dispensing Volumetric Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dispensing volumetric additive manufacturing (DVAM) prints 3D structures inside a photocurable resin droplet suspended from the tip of a glass pipette, enabling sequential printing without resin vats or manual part removal. Real‐time droplet profiling and ray‐tracing‐based correction compensate for optical distortion at the curved resin‐air interface ...

Triangularity dependence of the divertor heat flux profile and SOL filamentary turbulence on TCV

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
The role of positive and negative triangularity on the divertor heat flux profile and on the SOL filamentary (blobby) turbulence is investigated experimentally in lower single-null, attached, L-mode plasmas on TCV.
