Post‐Translational Modifications in Cilia and Ciliopathies
This review synthesizes current understanding of post‐translational modifications (PTMs) in ciliary proteins and emphasizes their roles in ciliary formation, homeostasis, and signaling. This review also discusses the implication of PTM dysregulation in ciliopathies and explores therapeutic strategies targeting PTM‐modifying enzymes.

Ceftriaxone-Resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Canada, 2017
We identified a ceftriaxone-resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae isolate in a patient in Canada. This isolate carried the penA-60 allele, which differs substantially from its closest relative, mosaic penA XXVII (80% nucleotide identity).

A Novel nor@DHB Matrix for Direct Microbial Analysis in Lung Cancer Tissues
Integrated matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry workflow quantifies intratumoral microbes in lung cancer through lipopolysaccharide/lipid A extraction from biopsies. The novel ionic matrix called norharmane conjugated to 2,5‐dihydroxybenzoic acid enhances lipid A ionization, enabling direct detection of bacterial genera ...

Bacteria of the Neisseria genus are Gram-negative diplococci including both pathogenic and commensal species. We focused on pathogenic Neisseria gonorrhoeae and commensal Neisseria sicca. We have demonstrated that not only N.

In 2016, we identified a ceftriaxone-resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae isolate in China. The strain genotype was identical to the resistant clone FC428 that originated in Japan.

Commensal non-pathogenic Neisseria spp. live within the human host alongside the pathogenic Neisseria meningitidis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae and due to natural competence, horizontal gene transfer within the genus is possible and has been observed.

In vitro and in vivo modification of Neisseria gonorrhoeae lipooligosaccharide epitope structure by sialylation. [PDF]
After growth of gonococci in the presence of cytidine monophospho-N-acetyl-neuraminic acid (CMP-NANA), their 4.5-kD lipooligosaccharide (LOS) component was increased by approximately 400 daltons, whereas the LOS of strains lacking the 4.5-kD component ...

Association Between Moraxella catarrhalis and Nodular Lymphocyte‐Predominant Hodgkin Lymphoma
ABSTRACT Nodular lymphocyte‐predominant Hodgkin Lymphoma (NLPHL) may be an antigen‐driven malignancy. Recent studies demonstrated that in NLPHL patients, lymphoma B‐cell receptor can bind proteins derived from Moraxella catarrhalis (MC) and Rothia mucilaginosa (RM). We examined whether MC and RM can be detected in NLPHL lymph nodes.
