Targeted Selective Treatment (TST) can reduce the rate of resistance development in livestock gastrointestinal nematodes but can also reduce the effects of anthelmintics on non‐target organisms. Most studies of non‐target anthelmintic effects focus on beneficial species.

Sustainable control of cyathostomin infections in practice
Summary Cyathostomins are the most prevalent helminths in horses and are found in nearly all grazing groups. These parasites have been shown to exhibit widespread anthelmintic resistance and can cause clinical disease, so they are a growing concern.

Stimulating proteasomal degradation in human proteinopathies
The proteasome mediates the degradation of a wide range of proteins. Boosting proteasomal degradation may be beneficial in several disease contexts and can be achieved either by modulating proteasome activity or by improving substrate delivery. Proteasome activity can be enhanced by increasing proteasome abundance, inducing constitutive gate opening ...

Sensitive detection systems for infectious agents in xenotransplantation*
Abstract Xenotransplantation of pig cells, tissues, or organs may be associated with transmission of porcine microorganisms, first of all of viruses, to the transplant recipient, potentially inducing a disease (zoonosis). I would like to define detection systems as the complex of sample generation, sample preparation, sample origin, time of sampling ...

Combating ageing beyond the cell: Emerging roles of extracellular proteostasis
Ageing challenges the body's ability to maintain a stable and functional proteome, leading to protein damage and aggregation both inside and outside cells. This review focuses on the less well understood mechanisms of extracellular protein quality control and how they become disrupted in ageing, particularly in neurodegenerative diseases.
