Farming System and Nematodes Affect the Rhizosphere Microbiome of Tropical Banana Plants
The banana crops showed a core microbiome of 77 ASV, mostly belonging to Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, and Bacilli. Specific groups of bacteria and fungi were linked to each nematode species or feeding group, with a core microbiome of correlated taxa found only when considering nematodes by feeding groups.

Entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) are virulent against multiple life stages of Aethina tumida in the laboratory. EPNs significantly reduce adult emergence in natural and autoclaved sterile soil under semi‐field glasshouse conditions. Abstract BACKGROUND The small hive beetle (SHB; Aethina tumida) is a significant pest affecting honey bees and the ...

ABSTRACT Regenerative agriculture (RA) uses nature‐friendly farm practices to nurture soil microbial communities. This study compared the fungal communities in RA plots with those in conventional agriculture (CA) and barren land (BL) plots (comprising completely barren‐ BL and with Eucalyptus ‐ BL‐Euc). Two crops ‐ finger millets and vegetables (tomato/

Nematophagous fungi: Metarhizium anisopliae [PDF]
Plant-parasitic nematodes are major pests affecting many economically important crop productions throughout the world. Some chemicals are widely used against the phytonematodes. Because of hazardous effects of these compounds on human beings, animals and

We investigated whether a patchy field distribution of potato cyst nematodes (PCN) resulted from local heterogeneity in disease suppression. The biotic origin of suppression in soils was confirmed, and elevated abundances of fungal (e.g., Metacordyceps chlamydosporia) and bacterial (e.g., Pseudomonas fluorescens) nematode antagonists were positively ...

Cultural and morphological characterization of Pochonia chlamydosporia and Lecanicillium psalliotae isolated from Meloidogyne mayaguensis eggs in Brazil. [PDF]
The root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne mayaguensis, causes serious economic loss to guava plantation in Brazil. Fungi associated with eggs of M. mayaguensis in Brazilian soil have not been studied yet, but this knowledge could form the basis for future ...

Nematophagous Activity of Duddingtonia Flagrans MUCL 9827 Against Sheep Gastrointestinal Nematodes
Gastro-intestinal nematodes (GIN) of sheep are one of major constraints in grazing production systems worldwide. Control is commonly achieved using anthelmintics, but global occurrence of anthelmintic resistance to different drugs and the emergence of ...
