A temperature scale for neodymium zinc nitrate below 1 K
Cryogenics, 1970Abstract The thermodynamic temperature scale, as a function of initial conditions for adiabatic demagnetization, has been constructed for single crystals of Nd 2 Zn 3 (NO 3 ) 1 2 . 24H 2 O between 0·01 and 1 K using, as a thermometer, the anisotropy of gamma-rays following the decay of Co 60 .

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2010
A novel method that spent nuclear fuel is converted into nitrates with N2O4, and then nitrates are extracted with TBP in supercritical CO2 (SC-CO2), has been developed for reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel, which has a potential prospect because of its potential to decrease generation of the secondary liquid waste.

Crystal structure of neodymium and gadolinium dihydroxy-nitrate, Ln(OH)2NO3
Journal of Solid State Chemistry, 1986The crystal structures of Nd(OH)2NO3 and Gd(OH)2NO3 have been determined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. Crystallization occurs in monoclinic space group P21 (No. 4) with a = 6.420(1), b = 3.838(1), c = 7.746(2) A, and β = 98.18(2)° for Nd(OH)2NO3 and a = 6.340(2), b = 3.715(1), c = 7.728(2) A, and β = 96.95(2)° for Gd(OH)2NO3.

Field dependence of spin-phonon relaxation in neodymium magnesium nitrate
Physics Letters A, 1968Abstract The paramagnetic relaxation time of Nd 2 Mg 3 (NO 3 ) 12 . 24H 2 O has been measured at temperatures around 2°K and in fields between 0.3 and 3 tesla, both direct process and phonon bottleneck are observed.

Analysis of the Optical Absorption Spectrum of Neodymium Magnesium Nitrate
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1963The optical absorption spectrum and magnetic properties of Nd2 Mg3 (NO3)12·24H2O have been interpreted in the light of crystalline field theory, using intermediate coupling calculations within each level of the free Nd3+ ion. A field of C3v symmetry has been used to account successfully for most of the observed crystal field energy levels and their ...

Nuclear spin-lattice relaxation in neodymium-doped lanthanum magnesium nitrate
Proceedings of the Physical Society, 1967Proton spin-lattice relaxation in lanthanum magnesium nitrate containing different concentrations of neodymium has been studied using dynamic nuclear polarization at helium temperatures. The results agree with theory only at low concentrations and higher temperatures, suggesting that neodymium spin-lattice relaxation is probably not concentration ...
