First‐In‐Human Study: Dose Expansion of E7130 in Urothelial Carcinoma and Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Head and Neck

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 8, Page 2247-2258, August 2026.
The dose escalation part of the first‐in‐human study of E7130 in patients with advanced solid tumors determined the Recommended Phase 2 Dose of E7130 (480 μg/m2 Q3W). MTAP Deficiency as a Metabolic Vulnerability in Cancer: Implications for Synthetic Lethal Therapy

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 8, Page 2085-2097, August 2026.
MTAP deletion creates a therapeutically actionable metabolic vulnerability through MTA accumulation and PRMT5 dependency. This review summarizes the biochemical basis of MTAP‐directed synthetic lethality, emerging PRMT5/MAT2A inhibitors, clinicogenomic features of MTAP‐deleted tumors, and future strategies for precision oncology.

Restorative versus non‐restorative total proctocolectomy: Who doesn't pouch and how do they do?

open access: yesColorectal Disease, Volume 28, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Aim Literature comparing total proctocolectomy with permanent end ileostomy (TPC‐EI) and IPAA in patients with UC is sparse. We aimed to (a) elucidate reasons for non‐restorative surgery in ulcerative colitis (UC), (b) describe the incidence of perineal wound complications and (c) assess differences in short‐term outcomes between groups.

Survodutide for the Treatment of Obesity Disease in Japanese Participants: Rationale, Design and Baseline Characteristics of the Phase 3 SYNCHRONIZE‐JP Trial

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 8, Page 6595-6606, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims There is an unmet need for effective pharmacotherapy for obesity disease management in Japan. Survodutide is a novel glucagon receptor/glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor (GLP‐1R) dual agonist with the potential to induce greater weight reductions than GLP‐1R mono‐agonists. We report the design and baseline participant characteristics of the
