A Case of Intraductal Papillary Neoplasm of the Bile Duct with Stromal Invasion [PDF]

open access: yesCase Reports in Gastroenterology, 2008
Intraductal papillary neoplasm of the bile duct (IPNB) represents biliary papillary tumors mainly growing and is considered to be of relatively low-grade malignancy. Here we report a case of IPNB in whom the poorly differentiated component deeply infiltrated the bile duct wall. A 77-year-old male had an invasive carcinoma of the bile duct 3 cm in size.

N-glycosylation in non-invasive and invasive intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
AbstractIntraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs), often found incidentally, are potentially malignant cystic tumors of the pancreas. Due to the precancerous nature, IPMNs lacking malignant features should be kept on surveillance. The follow-up relies on magnetic resonance imaging, which has a limited accuracy to define the high-risk patients ...

MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGERY FOR PSEUDOPAPILLARY NEOPLASM OF THE PANCREAS [PDF]

open access: yesABCD. Arquivos Brasileiros de Cirurgia Digestiva (São Paulo), 2016
ABSTRACT Background: Solid pseudopapillary pancreatic neoplasia is usually a large well-circumscribed pancreatic mass, with cystic and solid areas more frequently found in young women. It is a benign pancreatic neoplasia in most cases, therefore minimally invasive surgery could be an interesting approach. Aim: Evaluate the results of minimally invasive

Invasive mucinous cystic neoplasms of the pancreas

open access: yesExperimental and Molecular Pathology, 2012
Mucinous cystic neoplasms (MCN) and intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN) of the pancreas both appear to have been included and intermixed in some early reports of pancreatic cystic neoplasms. Recognition of their distinguishing features evolved during the last decade of the twentieth century.

Invasive biliary mucinous cystic neoplasm: a review

open access: yesHPB, 2012
Biliary mucinous cystic neoplasms (BMCNs) are recently redefined rare liver tumours in which insufficient recognition frequently leads to an incorrect initial or delayed diagnosis. A concise review of the subtle, sometimes non-specific, clinical, serologic and radiographic features will allow for a heightened awareness and more comprehensive ...

Ontology-Based MEDLINE Document Classification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
An increasing and overwhelming amount of biomedical information is available in the research literature mainly in the form of free-text. Biologists need tools that automate their information search and deal with the high volume and ambiguity of free-text.

Periostin deposition in the stroma of invasive and intraductal neoplasms of the pancreas [PDF]

open access: yesModern Pathology, 2008
Desmoplasia is a common feature of infiltrating ductal adenocarcinoma of the pancreas. This process is intricately interacted between the host and neoplastic cells. Recently, by transcriptome analysis, periostin was identified as a significantly highly expressed gene in pancreatic stellate cells.
