Retinoblastoma Protein Expression in Ovarian Epithelial Neoplasms

Gynecologic Oncology, 1998
Progress has been made in identifying the molecular changes that occur in ovarian carcinoma; still our understanding of these changes and their interactions remains incomplete. In the present study the authors examined the expression of retinoblastoma protein, a tumor suppressor protein, in a spectrum of ovarian epithelial tumors including cystadenomas,

Expression of promyelocytic leukaemia protein in thyroid neoplasms

Histopathology, 2000
AimsPromyelocytic leukaemia protein (PML) is an oncoprotein involved in the pathogenesis of acute promyelocytic leukaemia and is localized in distinct PML nuclear bodies. Our previous observation of overexpression of the PML in hormone‐sensitive normal tissues and malignant solid tumours, including the thyroid, led to this analysis of the PML ...

Targeting a regulator of protein homeostasis in myeloproliferative neoplasms

Nature Medicine, 2016
A new study demonstrates that dysregulation of proteostasis can be a transforming event in hematopoiesis that could prove to be therapeutically actionable for treatment of myeloproliferative neoplasms.

An immunohistochemical study of p53 protein in ovarian mucinous neoplasms

Pathology, 1996
p53 gene mutations are among the most common genetic lesions in human cancers. While previous studies have established the presence of p53 protein in ovarian carcinomas some have not shown the alteration of the p53 gene to be a feature in benign or borderline ovarian epithelial neoplasms.

Antiinflammatory proteins associated with human and murine neoplasms

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Reviews on Cancer, 1986
The immune mechanisms by which a host recognizes and destroys a growing tumor are undoubtedly complex and, as yet, incompletely understood. It is apparent, however, that mononuclear phagocytes play an important role in the defense against neoplastic disease and that the ability of monocytes and macrophages to accumulate at and within a growing tumor is

Massive protein plug in intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm

Pancreatology, 2013
A 56-year-old woman with diabetes mellitus visited our hospital for further examination. Abdominal ultrasonography showed an enlarged pancreas head, dilated pancreatic duct, and protrusion-like lesions in the main pancreatic duct, although tumors in the main pancreatic duct were unclear in computed tomography (Fig. 1).

Unusual expression of S‐100 protein in histiocytic neoplasms

Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, 1998
Twenty‐nine cases of histiocytic neoplasms, some resembling juvenile xanthogranuloma (JXG) and others resembling reticulohistiocytoma (RH), were evaluated. Immunohistochemical stains were performed. In this series, seven cases were identified that expressed S‐100 protein positive cells.

Expression of S-100 protein in renal cell neoplasms

Human Pathology, 2006
Polyclonal antibody to S-100 protein has been routinely applied for initial screening of various types of tumors, including, melanocytic tumors and neurogenic tumors. S-100 protein has been shown to have a broad distribution in human tissues, including renal tubules.

Expression and cellular localization of p8 protein in thyroid neoplasms

Cancer Letters, 2003
p8 protein has mitogenic activity and is linked to the development of pancreatic carcinoma. However, little is known about the expression and physiological significance of this protein in other human carcinomas. In this study, we immunohistochemically investigated p8 expression in thyroid neoplasms as well as in the normal thyroid gland.p8 was expressed
