GROWTH AND PERSISTENCE OF FILTERABLE VIRUSES IN A TRANSPLANTABLE RABBIT NEOPLASM [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Medicine, 1925
Virus III and vaccine virus multiply in a transplantable rabbit tumor of epithelial origin; are carried along with the tumor through an indefinite number of transplants; and despite an immunity developed by the rabbit host survive longer in the tumor than when injected into the testicles of normal rabbits.

Downregulation of sST2, a decoy receptor for interleukin‐33, enhances subcutaneous tumor growth in murine pancreatic cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Subcutaneous implantation of murine Panc02 pancreatic cancer cells depleted of sST2, a soluble decoy receptor for the proinflammatory interleukin‐33 (IL‐33), leads to a decreased number of GLUT4‐positive cancer‐associated adipocytes, reduced levels of the anti‐inflammatory molecule adiponectin, increased phosphorylation of IκBα, elevated Cxcl3 ...

Effect of Dietary Lipids on Growth of Transplantable Neoplasms in Mice.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1960
SummaryThe incidence of susceptibility of inbred mice to 2 transplantable neoplasms, L1210 leukemia and adenocarcinoma 755, was not influenced by variation in the dietary fats. Diets deficient in fat likewise had neither inhibiting nor stimulating activity in the pathogenesis of the 2 neoplasms. The authors are indebted to Dr.

LIN28B Promotes Cancer Cell Dissemination and Angiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Children diagnosed with high‐risk neuroblastoma have a 5‐year event‐free survival rate of less than 50% and poor outcomes after recurrence. Deregulation of the LIN28B oncogene can be addressed in these patients. Upregulation of LIN28B is shown to support the metastatic cascade.

A transplant recipient with a mixed germ-cell ovarian tumor

open access: yesSaudi Journal of Kidney Diseases and Transplantation, 2008
Immunosuppressed renal transplant recipients seem to be at significantly increased risk of developing neoplasms comparatively to nonimmunosuppressed individuals. A history of malignancy exposes the patient to a high risk for relapse after transplantation.
