Human cytomegalovirus infection is common in normal prostate epithelium, prostate tumor tissue, and prostate cancer cell lines. CMV promotes cell survival, proliferation, and androgen receptor signaling. Anti‐CMV pharmaceutical compounds in clinical use inhibited cell expansion in prostate cancer models in vitro and in vivo, motivating investigation ...

INFLUENCE OF LIGHT ON THE GROWTH AND MALIGNANCY OF A TRANSPLANTABLE NEOPLASM OF THE RABBIT [PDF]
An experiment is reported in which an environment of constant and continuous light excluding the shorter ultra-violet rays, and one of constant darkness, have influenced the course and character of a malignant disease of rabbits induced by a transplantable neoplasm.

Cutaneous and mucosal neoplasms in bone marrow transplant recipients [PDF]
Fifty-six long-term survivors of bone marrow allografts were followed for a minimum of 40 months after bone marrow transplantation (BMT) to determine the frequency of secondary malignancies. The 56 patients included ten with severe aplastic anemia (SAA), 16 with acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML), 11 with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and 19 with ...

In thyroid cancer patients, high‐dose (≥7.4 GBq) radioactive iodine therapy (RAIT) was associated with a higher prevalence of clonal hematopoiesis (variant allele frequency >2%) in individuals aged ≥50 years (OR = 2.44). In silico analyses showed that truncating PPM1D mutations conferred a selective advantage under these conditions.
