Low power laser treatment of the retina ameliorates neovascularisation in a transgenic mouse model of retinal neovascularisation

Experimental Eye Research, 2009
This study was designed to determine if low power laser therapy can achieve amelioration of vasoproliferation yet preserve useful vision in the treated area in a transgenic mouse model of retinal neovascularisation. The mice were anaesthetised and the pupils dilated for ERG and fundus fluorescein angiography on postnatal day 32.

[Inflammatory choroidal neovascularisations].

Klinische Monatsblatter fur Augenheilkunde, 2013
Inflammation plays a key role in the induction of choroidal neovascular membranes (CNV). This explains why each form of posterior uveitis may lead to CNV formation. Diseases like presumed ocular histoplasmosis syndrome (POHS), multifocal choroiditis (MFC) or punctate inner choroidopathy (PIC) carry a high risk of CNV creation.

Current and Emerging Therapies for Ocular Neovascularisation

2014
Ocular neovascularisation (ONV) is a pathological feature of many human blinding diseases. Here, we review current pharmacological therapies for these disorders and highlight emerging therapies in clinical trial for ONV. Finally, we discuss desirable characteristics of future ONV therapies, including innovative strategies for novel delivery to the back
