Nephelometry and turbidimetry to assess concentration and dispersion of coal dust in mines [PDF]

open access: diamondIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2018
The article considers the model of the optical instrument to measure coal dust concentration in mines based on the turbidimetric and nephelometric methods. The calculated data on the intensity of transmitted and scattered waves depending on coal dust concentration and on the size of coal dust particles are presented.

Concentrations of free light chains determined by nephelometry and turbidimetry [PDF]

open access: hybridCurrent Issues in Pharmacy and Medical Sciences, 2012
Determination of FLCs in the blood serum has been useful to diagnose patients with monoclonal gammapathies. Besides, the test has been widely used to assess response to treatment and detect progressive conditions. In the course of gammapathy monoclonal light chains constitute homogenic population of chains made of kappa and lambda light immunoglobulins

Evaluation of a new ELISA assay for monoclonal free‐light chain detection in patients with cardiac amyloidosis

open access: yeseJHaem, 2022
The causal protein of amyloid light‐chain (AL) amyloidosis is a monoclonal immunoglobulin free light chain (mFLC), which must be quantified in the serum for patient diagnosis and monitoring.

Prognostic value of kappa free light chain index in patients with primary progressive multiple sclerosis [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
BackgroundThe kappa free light chain (κ-FLC) index is a well-established biomarker in multiple sclerosis (MS). While the prognostic value of the κ-FLC index has been demonstrated in early relapsing–remitting MS, its prognostic value in primary ...

Characterization and elimination of a factor in serum that interferes with turbidimetry and nephelometry of lipase.

open access: closedClinical Chemistry, 1983
Abstract We studied a serum component ("pseudolipase") that interferes with both turbidimetric and nephelometric lipase measurements. Pseudolipase activity in serum was found in the presence of rheumatoid factor and in other disorders of active immune processes.

Performance Evaluation of Serum Free Light Chain Analysis: Nephelometry vs Turbidimetry, Monoclonal vs Polyclonal Reagents.

open access: closedAmerican journal of clinical pathology, 2017
Free light chain (FLC) measurement gained a lot of interest for diagnostic workup of monoclonal gammopathy. We evaluated the performance of turbidimetric polyclonal Freelite (The Binding Site, Birmingham, UK) assays on Cobas 6000 (Roche Diagnostics, Rotkreuz, Switzerland) and nephelometric monoclonal N Latex (Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, Marburg ...

A Critical Review on the Standardization and Quality Assessment of Nonfunctional Laboratory Tests Frequently Used to Identify Inborn Errors of Immunity

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2021
Inborn errors of immunity (IEI), which were previously termed primary immunodeficiency diseases, represent a large and growing heterogeneous group of diseases that are mostly monogenic.

Angioedema Without Wheals: Challenges in Laboratorial Diagnosis

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2021
Angioedema is a prevailing symptom in different diseases, frequently occurring in the presence of urticaria. Recurrent angioedema without urticaria (AE) can be hereditary (HAE) and acquired (AAE), and several subtypes can be distinguished, although ...
