Electrophysiological Studies in Combination With Interim‐Positron Emission Tomography Scan for Prevention of Severe Brentuximab‐Vedotin‐Induced Neurotoxicity

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, Volume 114, Issue 5, Page 802-811, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Brentuximab‐vedotin (BV)‐induced neurotoxicity (BVIN), a frequent adverse event caused by this monoclonal antibody, is the primary reason for dose modification or drug discontinuation, and is characterized by sensory, motor, and/or autonomic peripheral nerve dysfunctions.

Comparison Outcome of Nerve Regeneration across an Eggshell Membrane Guidance Channel and Autograft

open access: yesCaspian Journal of Neurological Sciences, 2016
Background: Peripheral nerves may be damaged during an injury and its current standard treatment is using an autologous nerve. Objectives: The purpose of this experimental study is to evaluate and compare the histological results of nerve regeneration ...

Progressive sequential development of left and right‐sided idiopathic recurrent laryngeal neuropathy in a Standardbred racehorse

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Education, Volume 37, Issue 6, Page e98-e104, June 2025.
Summary A 4‐year‐old Standardbred racehorse presented to the hospital due to poor performance and abnormal respiratory noises. A high‐speed treadmill videoendoscopic examination including tracheal airway pressure measurements was performed. Grade C left recurrent neuropathy was diagnosed and a prosthetic laryngoplasty was performed.

Acute severe lameness associated with proliferative bone on the dorsal middle phalanx (19 cases)

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Education, EarlyView.
Summary Background Injury resulting in proliferative new bone formation on the dorsal aspect of the middle phalanx (P2) has been recognised by equine veterinarians and is generally referred to as capsulitis. However, no retrospective case series has been published on the condition. Objectives To describe the clinical features, treatment, and outcome of

Solitary electromechanical pulses in Lobster neurons

open access: yes, 2016
Investigations of nerve activity have focused predominantly on electrical phenomena. Nerves, however, are thermodynamic systems, and changes in temperature and in the dimensions of the nerve can also be observed during the action potential.

Yearling laryngeal function grades II.2 and below are not associated with reduced performance

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The relationship between Thoroughbred yearling laryngeal function (YLF) grade and race performance is unclear. Objectives To determine the effect of YLF on future race performance. Study design Retrospective cohort study. Methods Post‐sale endoscopic recordings were reviewed from Australian yearling sales in 2018–2019.

The first principle of neural circuit and the general Circuit-Probability theory [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
A new neural circuit is proposed by considering the myelin as an inductor. This new neural circuit can explain why the lump-parameter circuit used in previous C-P theory is valid. Meanwhile, it provides a new explanation of the biological function of myelin for neural signal propagation.

神経ブロック時の眼窩下神経の形態学的変化 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A high dose local anesthetic, 5% lidocaine, and a semi-permanent neurolytic agent, 99% alcohol, were infused at the infraorbital foramen. The purpose of the paper is the progression in morphological change was observed light microscopically and electron,

Motor pathway evaluation by transcranial magnetic stimulation in Swedish horses with acquired equine polyneuropathy

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Acquired equine polyneuropathy in Nordic horses (AEP) is the most prevalent equine polyneuropathy in Norway, Sweden, and Finland and is characterised by pelvic limb knuckling due to metatarsophalangeal extension dysfunction.

Investigation of ephaptic interactions in peripheral nerve of sheep using 6 kHz subthreshold currents [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
The objective of this work was to determine whether application of subthreshold currents to the peripheral nerve increases the excitability of the underlying nerve fibres, and how this increased excitability would alter neural activity as it propagates through the subthreshold currents. Experiments were performed on two Romney cross-breed sheep in vivo,
