PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Effect of estrogen on growth and development of nerve cell in cerebellum of rat

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2008
In order to study the effect of estrogen on the development and neurocrine of nerve cell culture vitro of cerebellum, select the nerve cell of cerebellum of one day rat, then observe the growth and development of nerve cell after treatment with 17β ...

Modulation of neurotrophic signaling pathways by polyphenols [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Polyphenols are an important class of phytochemicals, and several lines of evidence have demonstrated their beneficial effects in the context of a number of pathologies including neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. In

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Cutaneous lesions sensory impairment recovery and nerve regeneration in leprosy patients

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 2012
It is important to understand the mechanisms that enable peripheral neurons to regenerate after nerve injury in order to identify methods of improving this regeneration.

Human melanoma-initiating cells express neural crest nerve growth factor receptor CD271. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The question of whether tumorigenic cancer stem cells exist in human melanomas has arisen in the last few years. Here we show that in melanomas, tumour stem cells (MTSCs, for melanoma tumour stem cells) can be isolated prospectively as a highly enriched ...

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Effect of Synthetic Cell-Penetrating Peptides on TrkA Activity in PC12 Cells

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2008
As TrkA, a high-affinity receptor of nerve growth factor (NGF), is a potential target for relieving uncontrolled inflammatory pain, an effective inhibitor of TrkA has been required for pain management.

Binding of Nerve Growth Factor Receptor in Sympathetic Ganglia [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1973
125 I-Labeled nerve growth factor binds to membrane preparations from superior cervical ganglia of rabbit in a specific fashion indicative of an interaction with the physiological receptor. Of various tissues examined, binding was observed only in the superior cervical ganglia, a presumed target organ of nerve growth factor ...
