Subbasal nerve regeneration after penetrating keratoplasty [PDF]
PURPOSE: To evaluate subbasal nerve regeneration, corneal sensitivity, and tear film function after penetrating keratoplasty. METHODS: Twenty keratoplasty patients were assessed before and 1, 3, 6, and 12 months after penetrating keratoplasty by using ...

Summary: Fibrotic scar is one of the main impediments to axon regeneration following spinal cord injury (SCI). In this study, we found that CD44 was upregulated during the formation of fibrotic scar, and blocking CD44 by IM7 caused downregulation of ...

The peripheral sensory nerves that innervate the cornea can be easily damaged by trauma, surgery, infection or diabetes. Several growth factors and axon guidance molecules, such as Semaphorin3A (Sema3A) are upregulated upon cornea injury.

Changes in Neurotrophic Factors of Adult Rat Laryngeal Muscles During Nerve Regeneration [PDF]
Injury to the recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) leads to the loss of ipsilateral laryngeal fold movement, with dysphonia, and occasionally dysphagia.

A hybrid photoprotective material integrates N‐doped TiO2 with a metal‐phenolic network (MPN) to achieve broad‐spectrum attenuation and robust reactive oxygen species (ROS) suppression. Nitrogen doping extends attenuation into the UVA/high energy visible light (HEV) regions and facilitates fast charge recombination to inhibit ROS formation.

A biomimetic aerogel conduit was engineered from a nanofiber of gelatin/poly(l‐lactic acid) doped with polypyrrole nanoparticles, integrated with tannic acid and Mg2+. This “electro‐ionic‐immune” strategy mimicked spinal cord properties, reduced calcium overload, inflammation, oxidative damage, promoted neural stem cell differentiation, suppressed ...
