Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Spiking buildings to avoid house martin (Delichon urban) nesting: is it a good choice?
We tested the effectiveness of installing spikes (® EcoPic E-5) on building eaves and windows to avoid the nesting of house martins. We found that spikes cannot prevent the nesting or reduce colony size.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Strain effects on electronic structure of the iron selenide superconductor
The influence of various strains on crystal and electronic structures of superconducting FeSe has been studied ab initio. We consider changes in the Fermi surface nesting with a vector Q=(0.5,0.5)*(2\pi /a) as crucial for rising superconductivity (SC ...

We identify the obstructions for T-dualizing the boundary WZW model and make explicit how they depend on the geometry of branes. In particular, the obstructions disappear for certain brane configurations associated to non-regular elements of the Cartan torus.

A subset of MMR‐proficient colon cancers responds to neoadjuvant immunotherapy
Tan et al. reveal that a distinct subset of early‐stage pMMR colon cancers can respond to neoadjuvant immunotherapy. In the NICHE‐2 trial, responders (26%) were characterized by chromosomal instability, TP53 mutations, and proliferative cell‐cycle programs, whereas nonresponders showed metabolic and stromal reprogramming with TGF‐β‐driven ...

We report an embarrassingly parallel method for the evaluation of thermodynaproperties over an energy landscape exhibiting broken ergodicity, nested basin-samp(NBS). We also introduce the No Galilean U-Turn Sampler (NoGUTS), a new sapling scheme based on the No U-Turn Sampler (NUTS) introduced by Hoffman Gelman (2014) that works with the Galilean Monte

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

"Nested and Overlapping Regimes in the Transatlantic Banana Trade Dispute" [PDF]
The decade long trans-Atlantic banana dispute was not a traditional trade conflict stemming from antagonistic producers’ interests. Instead, this article argues that the banana dispute is one of the most complex illustrations of the legal and political ...
