Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

Respiratory status and behavioral response of premature infant with nesting model care approach in neonatal intensive care unit

open access: yesJurnal Keperawatan, 2022
Introduction: The increase in mortality of newborns, especially premature babies, is caused by non-optimal lung development where the production of less surfactant triggers lung collapse and compliance.

Discovery and Targeted Proteomic Studies Reveal Striatal Markers Validated for Huntington's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Clinical trials for Huntington's disease (HD) enrolling persons before clinical motor diagnosis (CMD) lack validated biomarkers. This study aimed to conduct an unbiased discovery analysis and a targeted examination of proteomic biomarkers scrutinized by clinical validation. Methods Cerebrospinal fluid was obtained from PREDICT‐HD and

Fluid Biomarkers of Disease Burden and Cognitive Dysfunction in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Identifying objective biomarkers for progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is crucial to improving diagnosis and establishing clinical trial and treatment endpoints. This study evaluated fluid biomarkers in PSP versus controls and their associations with regional 18F‐PI‐2620 tau‐PET, clinical, and cognitive outcomes.

INCUBATION AND PREDATION ECOLOGY OF WILD TURKEY NESTS: A CAUTIONARY CASE STUDY REGARDING VIDEO CAMERA SURVEILLANCE

open access: yesWildlife Society Bulletin, 2015
: Because wild turkey (Meleagris gallopavo; hereafter turkey) hens and nests suffer from great mortality rates, accurately identifying turkey nest predators is important to wildlife managers, especially in areas where nest predation is thought to limit ...

Decoding the internesting movements of marine turtles using a fine-scale behavioral state approach

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and Evolution, 2023
IntroductionAn understanding of animal behavior is critical to determine their ecological role and to inform conservation efforts. However, observing hidden behaviors can be challenging, especially for animals that spend most of their time underwater ...

Ecology, Mating and Nesting of \u3ci\u3eTachypompilus Ferrugineus Nigrescens\u3c/i\u3e (Hymenoptera: Pompilidae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
An aggregation of Tachypompilus Jerrugineus nigrescens was studied during mid summer 1988 in Syracuse, NY. Wasp activity was focused on a 2 m high cemetery monument near a gravelly roadway.

Nesting behavior of Podium denticulatum Smith (Hymenoptera: Sphecidae) [PDF]

open access: yesNeotropical Entomology, 2010
The nesting behavior of Podium denticulatum Smith was studied on the campus of Ribeirão Preto of the Universidade de São Paulo, SP, Brazil, from September 2003 to August 2005. The wasps established their nests in bamboo canes ranging from 11.4 cm to 26.2 cm in length and from 0.7 cm to 1.8 cm in internal diameter.
