How Corridors Reduce Indigo Bunting Nest Success

Conservation Biology, 2006
Abstract:  Corridors are a popular strategy to conserve biodiversity and promote gene flow in fragmented landscapes. Corridor effectiveness has been bolstered by the fact that no empirical field studies have shown negative effects on populations or communities.

Ecological analyses of nesting success in evening grosbeaks

Oecologia, 1989
We studied the nesting success of Evening Grosbeaks (Coccothraustes vespertinus) inhabiting two areas of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado from 1983-1987. Sixty-four nests were followed during building, incubating, brooding, and fledging; 54.7% were successful (young fledged). The largest number of nests failed during incubation. Nests

Characteristics of successful nest sites for marsh-nesting common terns

Canadian Journal of Zoology, 1987
The relationship between nest site characteristics and nest success during tidal flooding was studied in six New Jersey colonies of marsh-nesting common terns (Sterna hirundo). Most colonies were on high ground with a northeast water exposure, and almost all nests were on mats of dead vegetation.

Nest-site selection and nesting success of Eurasian Nuthatch in China

Russian Journal of Ecology, 2015
The nest-site selection and nesting success of Eurasian Nuthatch (Sitta europaea) were studied two habitats, suburb of Beijing and Zuojia Natural Reserve, in northeast China from 2004 to 2008. Nuthatches in the study area bred mostly in the deciduous stands.

Does nest-site selection influence bobwhite nesting success in south Florida?

Wildlife Research, 2010
Context. Nest-site selection can influence nesting success, and thus population dynamics, of many species of ground-nesting birds. Despite the economic importance as a game species, populations of northern bobwhites have been declining throughout the southern United States. This paper reports the nesting ecology

Analysis of Successive Doubly Nested Mixed-Mode Oscillations

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos
In previous works [Inaba & Kousaka, 2020; Inaba & Tsubone, 2020; Inaba et al., 2023], significant bifurcation structures referred to as nested Mixed-Mode Oscillations (MMOs) were found to be present in forced Bonhoeffer–van der Pol (BVP) oscillators.

Nested perceptions of project success

2010
Taking a cognitive approach, this paper explores individual team memberʼs perceptions of a construction project and identifies prominent processes in the project lifecycle which contribute to the perceptions of success. Approached through a case investigation, this study compares three building conversion projects.
