Global spread, genetic differentiation and selection of barley spot form of net blotch isolates.

Phytopathology
Spot form of net blotch, caused by Pyrenophora teres f. maculata, is a significant necrotrophic disease of barley that spread world-wide in the 20th century.

Semantic Segmentation of Corn Leaf Blotch Disease Images Based on U-Net Integrated with RFB Structure and Dual Attention Mechanism

Agronomy
Northern corn leaf blight (NCLB) is caused by a fungus and can be susceptible to the disease throughout the growing period of corn, posing a significant impact on corn yield.

Inheritance of Resistance to Net Blotch in Barley in Morocco

Plant Disease, 1996
Barley cultivars currently grown in Morocco do not have satisfactory resistance to net blotch, caused by Pyrenophora teres. This study determined the inheritance of resistance in spring barley to net blotch in 11 F 2:5 populations in the field in Morocco.

A Possible Role for Ferrous Complexes in Fungal Disease Suppression: Glume Blotch and Net Blotch of Cereals

Journal of Phytopathology, 1985
AbstractGermination of spores of Septoria nodorum and Pyrenophora teres was inhibited and germ‐tube growth in germinated spores was reduced b y ferrous ions complexed with a number of cheiating agents. No such inhibition was observed with ferric complexes and none of the chelating agents in the desferri form was toxic to the fungi.

Effects of net blotch on growth and yield of spring barley

Annals of Applied Biology, 1987
SUMMARYThe effect of net blotch on the growth and yield of cv. Beatrice spring barley was examined in a greenhouse experiment. Separate inoculations at growth stages 21 and 34 reduced green leaf area, root weight, leaf sheath and stem weight and tiller number.

Mapping quantitative trait loci associated with barley net blotch resistance

Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 2007
Net blotch of barley, caused by Pyrenophora teres Drechs., is an important foliar disease worldwide. Deployment of resistant cultivars is the most economic and eco-friendly control method. This report describes mapping of quantitative trait loci (QTL) associated with net blotch resistance in a doubled-haploid (DH) barley population using diversity ...

Observations on the Development of Leaf Blotch and Net Blotch of Barley from Barley Debris, 1968

Plant Pathology, 1969
SUMMARY A survey of 56 fields of spring barley in West Sussex in 1968 showed that the extent and severity of leaf blotch ( Rhynchosporium secalis ) and net blotch ( Pyrenophora teres ) in the crop depended on the amount of stubble ...

Turkish barley varieties as a source of resistance to net blotch

Euphytica, 1971
From the world collection, 875 barley varieties of Turkish origin have been screened for resistance to local races of net blotch caused by Drechslera teres (Sacc.) Shoem. Six of these exhibited a high degree of resistance, which varied in expressivity when tested under a wider range of environmental conditions.

An Improved Technique for Determining Net Blotch Resistance in Barley

Plant Disease, 1991
An agar leaf disk technique is described for determining net blotch resistance in barley. Leaves of barley were collected and disinfested with different methods using alcohol and sodium hypochlorite. Twelve disinfested leaf disks were placed on 1.5% water agar in petri dishes with 0, 80, or 120 μg/ml of benzimidazole.
