Environmentally Induced Variability in the Host Reaction of Barley to Net Blotch [PDF]

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Biological Sciences, 1969
The host reaction of two Ethiopian and four Manchurian resistant varieties, and one susceptible variety of barley to isolate 177 of Drechslera teres was studied under a range of environmental conditions. The effects were specific to the variety(ies) used, with the exception of the factor of post-inoculation temperature.

Interactions between fungal plant pathogens on leaves. Especially simultaneous development of Rhynchosporium secalis and Drechslera teres on barley [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Disease causing fungi are a major potential threat to yield in both organic and conventional cereal production, and generally several different species of pathogenic fungi are found together on the same plants in the field. This PhD thesis concludes that

Improving Barley for Organic Producers: What Do Organic Producers Want? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Researchers surveyed organic barley producers in order to find out how many acres they are growing, what varieties they grow, what markets they are growing barley for, whether they receive a price premium for organic barley, whether they are growing or ...

Management of barley net blotch using Trichoderma asperellum (T34), eugenol, non-traditional compounds and fungicides

open access: yes, 2019
Barley plants (cv. Giza 2000) are infected by Drechslera teres which causes net blotch disease symptoms and yield losses. Plants were treated with commercial molecular products such as Trichoderma asperilium (T34), eugenol compared to non-traditional ...

Use of DNA-based genetic markers in plant breeding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Genetic markers have been used since the beginnings of plant breeding, but the concept of linkage and recently the availability of molecular markers have offered new and powerful tools that can help to perform the traditional tasks of selection or that ...

Identification of Hordeum spontaneum Genotypes Resistant to Net Blotch Disease

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Sciences, 2019
Wild barley (Hordeum spontaneum) is a progenitor of cultivated barley and naturally grows in Turkey. H. spontaneum genotypes possess superior characteristics for biotic and abiotic stress tolerance factors.
