A Comparison of Solar Radiation and Net Radiation 1, 2
Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, 1956Daily values of solar and net radiation at Ames, Iowa were compared for the period, late June through November, 1954. It was found that by dividing the data into two groups, clear days and cloudy days, regression lines could be computed which fitted the data very well.

Net Radiation Estimated from Standard Meteorological Data
1981The turbulent state of the Planetary Boundary Layer (PBL) is of importance in many fields related to mankind, for example, weather forecasting, dispersion of gases and particulate matter in the atmosphere and wind power prospecting.

Net long-wave radiation at Uppsala, Sweden
Archiv für Meteorologie, Geophysik und Bioklimatologie Serie B, 1979Net all-wave and short-wave radiation were recorded during a period of 21 months. Net long-wave radiation was determined as the difference between measured net all-wave and net short-wave radiation. The mean of daily radiation for each month, is presented.

NET RADIATION FLUX OVER SUB-ARCTIC SURFACES
Journal of Meteorology, 1961Abstract Some years ago, a series of maps of cover types in Labrador-Ungava was prepared at McGill University. These maps show the distribution of surfaces which have obvious wide variations in albedo and evaporative characteristics. By determining the albedo and evapotranspiration of these types, the maps permit estimates to be made regionally over ...

Net radiation over tall and short grasses
Agricultural Meteorology, 1972Abstract Net radiation over a tall grass, sugarcane, is shown to be closely similar to that over a short lawn grass when both are adequately watered. When the sward suffers from water stress the net radiation over it is less than that over the irrigated sugarcane.

Measurement of Net Radiation from Shipboard Sensors
Journal of Applied Meteorology, 1978Abstract A new method for the measurement of the net flux of radiation from shipborne sensors is described. In this method two matched Funk net pyrradiometers are mounted, one on each side of the ship. Each sensor is gimbal mounted in a rotating hemispherical shield so that it views half of the sky and the surface of the water.

Net Radiation Studies in the Schefferville Area
ARCTIC, 1963Describes summer 1961 radiation measurements in northern Quebec - Labrador. The study was made (methods noted) to test a correlation established by Orvig (No. 74547) from data obtained in 1958, viz a correlation coefficient of 0.777 between the mean daytime net flux and the daily total short-wave radiation.
