Pragmatic distributed algorithm for spectral access in cooperative cognitive radio networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A pragmatic distributed algorithm (PDA) is proposed for supporting the efficient spectral access of multiple Primary Users (PUs) and Cognitive Users (CUs) in cooperative Cognitive Radio (CR) networks. The novelty of our PDA is that the PUs negotiate with

Optimal transmission for scalable video coded streaming in cellular wireless networks with the cooperation of local peer-to-peer network

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2017
We study the problem of transmitting scalable video coded streams in a hybrid scenario including a global cellular network and a local peer-to-peer network.

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

Coded Cooperation for Multiway Relaying in Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yesSensors, 2015
Wireless sensor networks have been considered as an enabling technology for constructing smart cities. One important feature of wireless sensor networks is that the sensor nodes collaborate in some manner for communications.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Improved coded cooperation schemes for wireless communications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Cooperative communications can exploit distributed spatial diversity gain to improve link performance. When the message is coded at a low rate, source and relay can send different parts of a codeword to destination.

UAV-Assisted Network Coded Cooperation by Using Height-Dependency Shaping Parameters in Nakagami-m Faded Channel

open access: yesIEEE Access
In this paper, we propose a height-dependency shaping parameter ( $m$ ) and a height-dependency path-loss exponent for modelling small-scale Nakagami- $m$ fading and a large-scale path-loss model for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-assisted network coded ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.
