On the dynamics in the AdS/BCFT correspondence

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
We consider a perturbation of the Einstein gravity with the Neumann boundary condition, which is regarded as an end of the world brane (ETW brane) of the AdS/BCFT correspondence, in the AdS d+1 spacetime with d ≥ 3.

A PDE approach to large-time asymptotics for boundary-value problems for nonconvex Hamilton-Jacobi Equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We investigate the large-time behavior of three types of initial-boundary value problems for Hamilton-Jacobi Equations with nonconvex Hamiltonians.

Nonlocal Mixed Systems With Neumann Boundary Conditions

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences
ABSTRACTWe prove well posedness and stability in for a class of mixed hyperbolic–parabolic nonlinear and nonlocal equations in a bounded domain with no flow along the boundary. While the treatment of boundary conditions for the hyperbolic equation is standard, the extension to of classical results about parabolic equations with Neumann conditions ...

Limit of nonlinear elliptic equations with concentrated terms and varying domains: the non uniformly Lipschitz case

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2015
In this article, we analyze the limit of the solutions of nonlinear elliptic equations with Neumann boundary conditions, when nonlinear terms are concentrated in a region which neighbors the boundary of domain and this boundary presents a highly ...

A Neumann Boundary Term for Gravity

open access: yes, 2017
The Gibbons-Hawking-York (GHY) boundary term makes the Dirichlet problem for gravity well defined, but no such general term seems to be known for Neumann boundary conditions. In this paper, we view Neumann {\em not} as fixing the normal derivative of the

Approximation of tricomi problem with Neumann boundary condition

open access: yesNumerische Mathematik, 1984
The Tricomi problem with Neumann boundary condition is reduced to a degenerate problem in the elliptic region with a non-local boundary condition and to a Cauchy problem in the hyperbolic region. A variational formulation is given to the elliptic problem and a finite element approximation is studied.

Quantum electromagnetic field in a three dimensional oscillating cavity

open access: yes, 2002
We compute the photon creation inside a perfectly conducting, three dimensional oscillating cavity, taking the polarization of the electromagnetic field into account.

Repulsive Casimir force from fractional Neumann boundary conditions

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2009

Simultaneous control for the heat equation with Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique
It is well known that both the heat equation with Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions are null controlable as soon as the control acts in a non trivial domain (i.e. a set of positive measure).
