EMT‐associated bias in the Parsortix® system observed with pancreatic cancer cell lines
The Parsortix® system was tested for CTC enrichment using pancreatic cancer cell lines with different EMT phenotypes. Spike‐in experiments showed lower recovery of mesenchymal‐like cells. This was confirmed with an EMT‐inducible breast cancer cell line.

WNT signaling at the intersection between neurogenesis and brain tumorigenesis
Neurogenesis and tumorigenesis share signaling molecules/pathways involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, and death. Self-renewal of neural stem cells is a tightly regulated process that secures the accuracy of cell division and ...

Downregulation of genes with a function in axon outgrowth and synapse formation in motor neurones of the VEGF(delta/delta) mouse model of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis [PDF]
Background: Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is an endothelial cell mitogen that stimulates vasculogenesis. It has also been shown to act as a neurotrophic factor in vitro and in vivo.

Interactions between Germ Cells and Extracellular Matrix Glycoproteins during Migration and Gonad Assembly in the Mouse Embryo [PDF]
Cells are known to bind to individual extracellular matrix glycoproteins in a complex and poorly understood way. Overall strength of adhesion is thought to be mediated by a combinatorial mechanism, involving adhesion of a cell to a variety of binding ...

Cellular signalling mechanisms of neural cell adhesion molecules.
Neural cell adhesion molecules of the immunoglobulin superfamily are multidomain proteins involved in important cellular events pertinent to development and adult neurological function.

Neural cell adhesion molecule in aged mouse muscle.
Expression of the neural cell adhesion molecule was compared in endplate and non-endplate regions of skeletal muscles of mature and old CBF-1 mice, in order to determine whether age-related changes in neuromuscular morphology were correlated with age changes in neural cell adhesion molecule expression.

Polysialylated Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule in Childhood Rhabdomyosarcoma [PDF]
Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) cells express the polysialylated (PSA) form of the neural cell adhesion molecule (NCAM). During embryogenesis, PSA-NCAM is widespread and dynamically regulates embryonal developing processes, whereas postnatally, PSA-NCAM becomes restricted to a few regions of neural plasticity and regenerating neural tissues.

Pericytes change function depending on glioblastoma vicinity: emphasis on immune regulation
Pericytes alter their transcriptome depending on their proximity to the tumor core. In the tumor core, pericytes display a more active state with higher communication strength but with lower immune activation potential and a shift toward extracellular matrix production.

Molecular and Genetic Determinants of Glioma Cell Invasion. [PDF]
A diffusely invasive nature is a major obstacle in treating a malignant brain tumor, "diffuse glioma", which prevents neurooncologists from surgically removing the tumor cells even in combination with chemotherapy and radiation.

Microglia (BV2) and IL‐4‐treated BMDMs promote astrocytoma clustering and inhibit tumor growth, not shown in other macrophage cells. In vivo, microglial co‐implantation enhances CD8+ T cell infiltration, elevates Granzyme B, lowers circulating MDSCs, and extends survival only in immune‐competent mice, but not in immune‐deficient mice.
