Isolation of mouse neuritic mRNAs
Journal of Molecular Histology, 2006Impaired local protein translation at postsynaptic sites has been hypothesized to be the cause of several neurological disorders such as fragile X syndrome, neurofibromatosis-1, Rett syndrome, and other syndromic and non-specific forms of mental retardation.

Substratum regulation of neurite fasciculation
Brain Research, 1991A new clonal nerve-like cell line from the rat eye is used to show that cell-substratum adhesion can modulate neurite fasciculation. When cells are grown on a substratum of intermediate adhesiveness their neurites adhere to each other and form fascicles. In contrast, cells grown on more adhesive surfaces spread and extend individual neurites.

Nanomodified surfaces and neurite outgrowth
2011Here we describe our attempts to study the interaction of nanomodified surfaces with neurons and macrophages. Surfaces with nano-sized topographies produced by UV lithography, electrochemical etching, nanoimprint lithography, microdispensing, or by electrospinning of plastic nanofibers or by making plastic replicas of the extracellular matrix with ...

General dentistry, 2002
Diagnosing and managing neuropathic pain with associated sensory aberrations can be aggravating and frustrating for both the dentist and the patient. The teeth and intraoral and extraoral tissues can be affected if neuritis is located in the maxillary or mandibular nerve branches.

Enhancing and Regulating Neurite Outgrowth
Critical Reviews in Toxicology, 2008Numerous agents have demonstrated the potential to enhance neuronal repair following spinal cord or peripheral nerve injury using neurite outgrowth as a biomarker for axonal extension in primary cell cultures and neuronal cell lines. This article provides an assessment of the dose-response features of chemically induced neuronal outgrowth in a broad ...
