Machine Learning‐Driven Design of Multicomponent Bone Inorganic Matrix Mimicking Scaffolds for Osteogenesis Enhanced by Neurogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of development of experimental datasets and algorithm models, screening and preparation of the scaffolds and their applications in vivo. ABSTRACT Bone defects require materials with osteogenic, neurogenic, and angiogenic activity, yet designing such materials within high‐dimensional compositional spaces remains challenging. Here,

Complications after medullary thyroid carcinoma surgery: multicentre study of the SQRTPA and EUROCRINE® databases

open access: yesBJS (British Journal of Surgery), EarlyView., 2020
This study investigated postoperative complications after surgery for medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) in Europe. Hypoparathyroidism, recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy and bleeding requiring reoperation occurred in 170 (26·2 per cent), 62 (13·7 per cent) and 17 (2·6 per cent) patients respectively.

Expression of parathyroid hormone-related protein in gastrointestinal malignancies. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP) is a peptide hormone which, when abundantly produced by certain tumours, and released into the systemic circulation, stimulates via an endocrine-like pathway, bone resorption and renal calcium reabsorption, by ...

ENETS Consensus Guidelines for the Standards of Care in Neuroendocrine Tumours: Surgery for Small Intestinal and Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumours

open access: yes, 2017
The small intestine and pancreas are among the most frequent abdominal sites of origin of neuroendocrine tumours. Distinctive features of these forms are represented by the relatively low incidence and the wide heterogeneity in biological behaviour.

Targeting β2‐Adrenergic Receptor Stability With Lycorine Reveals a Host‐Directed Pathway for Antiviral Defense Against Poxviruses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic stress drives autophagy‐mediated β2‐AR degradation, impairing antiviral immunity and promoting poxvirus lethality. Lycorine directly stabilizes β2‐AR to restore host defense, suppress excessive inflammation and improve survival. ABSTRACT Psychological stress is a pervasive yet poorly understood modulator of infectious disease outcomes. Here, we

Small-Cell Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the Cervix Masquerading as a Cervical Fibroid: Report of a rare entity

open access: yesSultan Qaboos University Medical Journal, 2018
Primary neuroendocrine tumours of the cervix are extremely rare, with an incidence of only 0.5–1%; as such, these entities can present a clinical and diagnostic challenge.

Duodeno-pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Cancer Care, 2010
Duodeno-pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (DP-ETs) are increasingly diagnosed today due to the widespread use of modern imaging methods. Duodeno-pancreatic endocrine tumours should be treated by radical surgical resection, which offers a high chance for cure when the disease is localized.

Small intestinal neuroendocrine tumours - Disease models, tumour development, and remedy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Small intestinal neuroendocrine tumours (SINETs) are malignant neoplasms which at the time of diagnosis often present with distant metastasis. The field of SINET research faces several challenges. There is a lack of preclinical models for studying SINETs,

Discovery and Optimization of AMT‐676, a CDH17‐Targeting ADC for the Treatment of Advanced Gastrointestinal Cancers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
AMT‐676 is a novel antibody‐drug conjugate targeting CDH17, an adhesion molecule uniquely exposed on gastrointestinal tumor surfaces. Engineered with an optimized exatecan payload, it demonstrates profound tumor regression and a robust bystander effect across diverse preclinical models.
