TULP4, a novel E3 ligase gene, participates in neuronal migration as a candidate in schizophrenia

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, EarlyView., 2023
Mutations identified from four SCZ pedigrees resulted in decreased TULP4 expression. Tulp4 knockdown caused delayed neuron migration in embryonic mice, and impaired cognition and prepulse inhibition in adult mice. These phenotypes may be related to TULP4 through its involvement in the formation of a novel E3 ubiquitin ligases.

SETDB1 regulates microtubule dynamics

open access: yesCell Proliferation, Volume 55, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
SETDB1 association with microtubules inhibits microtubule polymerization and enhances their instability. SETDB1 may affect the microtubules by interacting with HDAC6 to enhance HDAC6 tubulin deacetylation activity. Abstract Objectives SETDB1 is a methyltransferase responsible for the methylation of histone H3‐lysine‐9, which is mainly related to ...

Inflammation following childhood maltreatment is associated with episodic memory decline in older adults

open access: yesJournal of Traumatic Stress, EarlyView.
Abstract Childhood maltreatment is recognized as a risk factor for cognitive decline in adulthood. However, the mechanisms underlying this association, particularly the role of systemic inflammation, remain understudied. To address this gap, this study investigated the indirect effects of inflammation on the associations between childhood maltreatment ...
