CLINICAL OBSERVATIONS ON THE NEUROMUSCULAR BLOCKING ACTION OF ORG 9426, A NEW STEROIDAL NON-DEPOLARIZING AGENT

open access: yesBritish Journal of Anaesthesia, 1990
The neuromuscular blocking effects of Org 9426, the 2-morpholino, 16-allyl-pyrrolidino derivative of the 3-desacetoxy analogue of vecuronium have been investigated in anaesthetized patients. Based on data from a pilot study, two doses, 250 and 500 micrograms kg-1 (estimated as the ED90 and 2 x ED90, respectively) were chosen.

Steroidal monoquaternary ammonium salts with non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocking activity

open access: yes, 1967
A series of ten 2β- or 3α-steroidal monoquaternary ammonium salts, having androstane or pregnane skeletons and related in structure to acetylcholine by possession of an oxygen function on the carbon atom next but one to the quaternary nitrogen atom, were

Interactions between suxamethonium and non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocking-drugs

open access: yes, 1994
In anaesthetized cats, we have confirmed that previously injected suxamethonium potentiates non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocking drugs whereas, when injected during the block, suxamethonium antagonizes the paralysis. We have attempted to explain these

DEVELOPMENT AND CHARACTERIZATION OF A NEUROMUSCULAR IN VITRO MODEL DERIVED FROM HUMAN PLURIPOTENT STEM CELLS

open access: yes, 2022
reservedPer sviluppare un modello di muscolo scheletrico umano in vitro, in grado di riprodurre la variabilità paziente-specifica, le cellule staminali umane pluripotenti indotte sono una interessante opzione. In primo luogo, lo studio si è focalizzato

Micropatterned and stretchable human neuromuscular organoids to study Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

open access: yes, 2022
openRecent advances in bioengineering allow to develop human neuromuscular in vitro models that more closely resemble the physiological three-dimensional (3D) cellular environment and structure of neuronal-coupled skeletal muscle. Neuromuscular organoids

Extreme levels of noise constitute a key neuromuscular deficit in the elderly

open access: yes, 2012
Fluctuations during isometric force production tasks occur due to the inability of musculature to generate purely constant submaximal forces and are considered to be an estimation of neuromuscular noise.

Nicotinic transmission and drugs in anesthesia : neuromuscular blocking agents and propofol : consequences for carotid body function

open access: yes, 2006
The carotid body is the global oxygen sensor of the human body. Acute hypoxia elicits instant hyperventilation mediated from the carotid body type 1 cells, where nicotinic transmission is a key component in oxygen sensing and signalling.

PHARMACOLOGY OF ORG-NC-45 COMPARED WITH OTHER NON-DEPOLARIZING NEUROMUSCULAR BLOCKING-DRUGS

open access: yes, 1980
From results of pharmacological tests on the neuromuscular and autonomic blocking actions of a series of pancuronium analogues, Org NC 45, the Cl 6 monoquatemary analogue of pancuronium, was selected for detailed study.
