TD-88Up: Upgraded neutral Earth's thermosphere total density TD-88 model [PDF]

open access: yesSerbian Astronomical Journal, 2009
Improved constants of the total density TD-88 model for the Earth's neutral thermosphere are calculated. The model is fully functional within the height range of 200 to 500 km, with fixed values of the mean solar flux and geomagnetic index.

Time-dependent responses of the neutral mass density to fixed magnetospheric energy inputs into the cusp region in the thermosphere during a period of large IMF B Y: a high-resolution two-dimensional local modeling

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2021
Thermospheric mass density values around the 400-km altitude in the cusp can be significantly enhanced as compared to regions around the cusp. To gain insights into the extent to which the magnitude of the cusp mass density enhancements can be explained ...

Parametric Estimation of Risk Neutral Density Functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This chapter deals with the estimation of risk neutral distributions for pricing index options resulting from the hypothesis of the risk neutral valuation principle. After justifying this hypothesis, we shall focus on parametric estimation methods for the risk neutral density functions determining the risk neutral distributions.

Estimating the mass density of neutral gas at $z < 1$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We use the relationships between galactic HI mass and B-band luminosity determined by Rao & Briggs to recalculate the mass density of neutral gas at the present epoch based on more recent measures of the galaxy luminosity function than were available to ...

The Simulated HI Sky at low redshift [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Observations of intergalactic neutral hydrogen can provide a wealth of information about structure and galaxy formation, potentially tracing accretion and feedback processes on Mpc scales. Below a column density of NHI ~ 10^19 cm-2, the "edge" or typical

Mesosphere and Lower Thermosphere (MLT) Density Responses to the May 2024 Superstorm at Mid-to-High Latitudes in the Northern Hemisphere Based on Sounding of the Atmosphere Using Broadband Emission Radiometry (SABER) Observations

open access: yesRemote Sensing
The thermospheric density response during geomagnetic storms has been extensively explored, but with limited studies on the density response in the Mesosphere and Lower Thermosphere (MLT) region.

Sources of the High-Latitude Thermospheric Neutral Mass Density Variations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2010
We investigate the sources of the variation of the high-latitude thermospheric neutral mass density depending on the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) conditions.

Observation of large many-body Coulomb interaction effects in a doped quantum wire

open access: yes, 2002
We demonstrate strong one dimensional (1-D) many-body interaction effects in photoluminescence (PL) in a GaAs single quantum wire of unprecedented optical quality, where 1-D electron plasma densities are controlled via electrical gating.

A method of estimating the Martian neutral atmospheric density at 130 km, and comparison of its results with Mars Global Surveyor and Mars Odyssey aerobraking observations based on the Mars Climate Database outputs

open access: yesEarth and Planetary Physics, 2020
Profiles of the Martian dayside ionosphere can be used to derive the neutral atmospheric densities at 130 km, which can also be obtained from the Mars Climate Database (MCD) and spacecraft aerobraking observations. In this research, we explain the method
