The distance to the high velocity clouds of neutral hydrogen

open access: yes, 1992
The goal of this project was to determine the distance to high velocity gas clouds. These clouds are believed to lie in the halo of the galaxy, but this is a matter of controversy.

Bridged h‐BN Nanosheets Coatings: Simultaneous Shielding Atomic‐Oxygen Irradiation and Achieving Superior Friction Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT To confront extreme space environments, a combination of inorganic and organic coatings can provide a pathway for offering highly durable radiation resistance and anti‐friction simultaneously. Herein, a strong interfacial 3D hydrogen‐bonding network is designed to create robust hexagonal boron nitride (h‐BN) based polymer coatings with ...

21 Cm Hydrogen-Line Survey Of The Large Magellanic Cloud Ii. Distribution And Motions Of Neutral Hydrogen [PDF]

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Physics, 1966
The 21 cm hydrogen-line data from a survey of the Large Magellanic Oloud with a 14',5 aerial beam have been simplified into distributions of intensities and radial velocities at profile peaks. Fifty-two large HI complexes of mean diameter 575 pc, density I hydrogen atom per cm3, and mass 4 X 106M o have been delineated.

Comparative Insights and Overlooked Factors of Interphase Chemistry in Alkali Metal‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This review presents a comparative analysis of Li‐, Na‐, and K‐ion batteries, focusing on the critical role of electrode–electrolyte interphases. It especially highlights overlooked aspects such as SEI/CEI misconceptions, binder effects, and self‐discharge relevance, emphasizing the limitations of current understanding and offering strategies for ...

On the Stability of Interstellar Neutral Hydrogen Clouds at Large Z-heights

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Abstract Galactic neutral hydrogen (H i) data drawn from several large-scale surveys have been used to study 32 small clouds found between Galactic longitudes 70° and 140° and latitudes −20° and −45°. This places them below the Perseus spiral arm in the second quadrant of Galactic longitude. The velocities of the sample range from −30 to

A High Resolution Study of the Distribution and Motions of Neutral Hydrogen in the Small Cloud of Magellan [PDF]

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Physics, 1967
Observations of radiation from neutral hydrogen in the Small Cloud of Magellan at a wavelength of 21 em have been made using the 210 ft Parkes telescope and multichannel receiver. Profiles were observed over an area of 30 sq deg of sky.

High velocity clouds in nearby disk galaxies

open access: yes, 1993
Clouds of neutral hydrogen in our galaxy with the absolute value of v greater than 100 km/s cover approximately 10 percent of the sky to a limiting column density of 1 x 10(exp 18) cm(exp -2).

Multiscale Perspectives on Perovskite Instability: From Atomistic Deformation to Device Degradation in Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale perspectives on how excess charges in soft lead halide perovskites induce operational instability in photovoltaic devices are presented. Localized carriers formed under thermodynamic non‐equilibrium states modify atomistic interactions and drive lattice distortions, accelerating device degradation.

Combined Gravimetric, Electrochemical, and Computational Research on Benzothiophene Derivatives as Effective Corrosion Inhibitors for Mild Steel

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Four benzothiophenes, thianaphthene (BT‐1), 3‐bromothianaphthene (BT‐2), benzo[b]thiophene‐2‐carboxaldehyde (BT‐3), and benzo[b]thiophene‐2‐carbonitrile (BT‐4), were tested as mild steel corrosion inhibitors in 1‐M HCl. The compounds have the similar benzothiophene core but differ in the substituents bound to the ring.
