The evolution of a plane jet in a neutral sheet

Physics of Plasmas, 1998
The linear and nonlinear evolution of the plane magnetized jet, a magnetohydrodynamic configuration consisting of a plane fluid jet embedded in a neutral sheet, is examined. At low Alfvén number (A=ratio of the characteristic Alfvén speed to the characteristic flow speed), two ideally unstable modes are found that correspond to the sinuous and varicose

Negative skin friction and the neutral plane

Canadian Geotechnical Journal, 1994
Current views indicate that negative skin friction on piles can be mobilized at small relative deformations and should be considered in all designs, primarily for serviceability conditions. An elastic-plastic closed-form solution is presented that permits an estimate of down-drag forces and the location of the neutral plane.

Neutral coated inclusions in conductivity and anti–plane elasticity

Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2001
Summary: The problem of neutral inclusions for two-dimensional conductivity (or, equivalently, anti-plane elasticity) is considered. Such an inclusion when inserted in a matrix containing a uniform applied electric field does not disturb the field outside the inclusion.

Fabricating ultra-flexible photodetectors at the neutral mechanical plane by encapsulation

Journal of Materials Chemistry C, 2021
The as-fabricated encapsulated photodetectors at the neutral mechanical plane are supposed to perform stably during the bending process no matter how large the strain of the outside surface is. Meanwhile, they show an ultra-stable performance with almost unvaried photoresponse properties after 10 000 bending cycles or a bending duration of 1000 h with ...

Free Segments of a Neutral Plane (FSEG)

2015
Free segments are defined as congruence classes of segments; these are ordered in a natural way, and this ordering is shown to be transitive and to have the trichotomy property. Addition of free segments is defined, and its elementary properties and interactions with ordering are studied.

Induced emission of neutral fermions moving in a plane wave

Soviet Physics Journal, 1970
The induced emission of neutral fermions having an anomalous magnetic moment and moving in an intense electromagnetic wave under the influence of a second, less intense, electromagnetic wave is analyzed. In this situation the particles may acquire a predominant spin orientation.

Some Neutral Theorems of Plane Geometry

1995
We discuss some of those theorems of Euclidean plane geometry that are independent of the parallel axiom. They will be needed in the development of hyperbolic geometry. We assume they are more or less known, so that our treatment is not as complete as a full treatment of Euclidean geometry would be.

Finite-amplitude neutral disturbances in plane Poiseuille flow

Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1974
Finite-amplitude disturbances in plane Poiseuille flow are studied by a method involving Fourier expansion with numerical solution of the resulting partial differential equations in the coefficient functions. A number of solutions are developed which extend to relatively long times so that asymptotic stability or instability can be established with a ...

Neutral Data Fitting by Lines and Planes

2006
Given data on two or three variables we are interested in fitting a line or plane for the purposes of modelling the relationship between these variables. Most of the literature on this subject approaches this problem by selecting one of these variables and treating it differently from the others in the fitting procedure.

Selective in-plane nitrogen doping of graphene by an energy-controlled neutral beam

Nanotechnology, 2015
Nitrogen-doped graphene promises to improve current electronic devices, sensors, and energy-based devices. To this end, the bonding states between carbon and nitrogen atoms can be manipulated to tailor the properties of the doped graphene. For example, graphitic nitrogen is known to promote desired catalytic activities in graphene fuel-cell systems ...
