A Neutral Point Voltage Balancing Method for Multi-Level GTO Inverters

open access: yesConference Record of the 2006 IEEE Industry Applications Conference Forty-First IAS Annual Meeting, 2006
The balancing problem of the DC-link capacitor voltage is inherent in the NPC inverter. It is extremely important to keep the upper and lower DC-link capacitor voltages balanced to guarantee the three level operation of the inverter. Generally, the balancing of the DC-link voltage degrades at very low operating frequencies of the inverter.

Neutral points voltage balancing control of a four-level π-type converter [PDF]

open access: yes2016 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2016
In this paper, a carrier-based modulation method with optimal zero-sequence signal injection has been introduced to modulate a four-level π-type converter as well as regulate its DC-link neutral points' voltages. The two neutral points' voltages can be well controlled with a back-to-back configuration even under high modulation index and high power ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Thermally Balanced DPWM Method With Neutral Point Voltage Balancing Capability for Single-Phase Five-Level T-Type NPC Inverters

open access: yesIEEE Access
Discontinuous pulse width modulation (DPWM) is useful to improve the efficiency of a single-phase five-level T-type neutral-point-clamped (5LT-NPC) inverter and the reliability of the power devices.

Mechanisms of parasite‐mediated disruption of brain vessels

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Parasites can affect the blood vessels of the brain, often causing serious neurological problems. This review explains how different parasites interact with and disrupt these vessels, what this means for brain health, and why these processes matter. Understanding these mechanisms may help us develop better ways to prevent or treat brain infections in ...

Three-Phase Embedded Modified-Z-Source Three-Level T-Type Inverters

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Two topologies are designed by combining a modified-Z-source (MZS) network consisting of three diodes, two inductors and four capacitors to a traditional three-level T-type inverter (3LTI), and embedding either one or two dc sources in the impedance ...

A Novel Virtual Space Vector Modulation Scheme for Three-Level NPC Power Converter with Neutral-Point Voltage Balancing and Common-Mode Voltage Reduction for Electric Starter/Generator System in More-Electric-Aircraft

open access: yesEuropean Conference on Cognitive Ergonomics, 2019
In recent years, More-Electric-Aircraft (MEA) becomes the state-of-the-art. One of the essential issue need to be solved is neutral-point (NP) voltage drift in three-level neutral-point-clamped (3L-NPC) power converter because of low power factor (PF ...

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...
