Selective Membrane for Non‐Aqueous Electrochemical Flow Cells
Sulfonated fixed charge functionalization is increased to improve the conductivity of a cation exchange membrane in a non‐aqueous electrochemical cell. Based on ex situ analyses, the material achieved the highest selectivity for this type of system to date.

Neutral evolution is the default process of genomic changes. This is because our world is finite, and the randomness, indispensable for neutral evolution, is important when we consider the history of a finite world. The random nature of DNA propagation is discussed using branching process, coalescent process, Markov process, and diffusion process ...

Quantifying Electron and Ion Transfers in Contact Electrification with Ionomers
The concurrent existence of both electron and ion transfers in solid‐ionomer contact electrification is reported. The ion transfer contributes significantly to the process of contact electrification, especially at high humidity, although only less than 2% of ions participate in the ion transfer, suggesting that there is room for further performance ...

Modulating Oxide‐Based Quantum Materials by Ion Implantation
This review highlights how ion implantation, a well developed chip‐technology, enables targeted modulation of oxide‐based quantum materials. This includes tuning of metal‐insulator transitions, magnetism, and superconductivity through selective doping, defect creation, and induced lattice strain. Abstract Ion implantation has emerged as a powerful tool
